Anecdotal evidence but true nonetheless: I was playing in a band with a gay lead singer. Both he and his boyfriend were very slight, effeminate types. One night after a gig, we were loading out our equipment when our roadie found the boyfriend beating the stuffings out of our singer. We broke it up immediately, and found out this had gone on before. Of course, they stayed together! It was all very sordid and sad - the singer was a nice guy who wouldn't hurt a flea, and had no idea how to defend himself.

We had a gay male couple as next door neighbors once. They had hugh fights! Mostly over jealosy about other gay friends of theirs.....
