New York Post ^ | December 23, 2004 | Richard Johnson

A BITTER battle over Johnny Ramone's estate has pit Stella Cummings, the 79-year-old mother of the legendary guitarist, against his wife, Linda Cummings.

Stella Cummings claims that Johnny, who died in September of prostate cancer, had promised her $2,500 a month, but she suspects Linda somehow convinced the punk rock pioneer to leave her out of his will.

Johnny was a Republican. From a Washington Times article:

"He was a rebel in a rebel's world, though. Johnny Ramone was a fiercely Republican-voting, NRA-supporting musician in a milieu that is remarkable for its embrace of all things left."

Hit me with my rhythm stick?

Ian Dury never did anything for me. Neither did the Undertones.

Like your taste in music, but I enjoyed Drury and the 'Tones in small dose. The Ramones, well, your praise has merit. Their music always reminded me of a punk era cartoon with an agent telling a record exec (with a spiked, collared band playing in the background) "they only know two cords, but they're the right ones"....
