Pardon the Vanity, but Techno-FReepers might be interested in debunking this supposed phenomena where voices/whispers are heard on digital & cassette recorders during playback. Hollywood's "White Noise" is coming in January. Visit group's website for more information & samples.
On second thought, the Left believes in Oblivion After Death and not Life After Death......
I see dead people. I hear them, too.
Not to mention his numerous "psychics" who all predicted GWB would lose his second term.
I can't wait for the Shadow People movie.

Art Bell's EVP shows are the only ones I bother listening to anymore (most of the rest of his guests these days promote All Bush-Hate, All the Time).

Sounds like a segment for the MythBusters.
However, I also believe the newer stuff is worth investigating. Suppose some FReepers will laugh it off, but I'm not so sure about it.
That's for sure! There were only two I can recall who got it right, Sean David Morton and Joe Jacobs. I am sure there was a lot of hand wringing in metaphysical circles

Did you hear the 10/31/04 program with the recordings done by Dr. George Meeks? It was very good. I am looking forward to this film. It sounds like fun to me.

And I have a marble countertop with a picture of your grandmother.
"White noise" has been around since the earliest days of radio. Some hucksters have found a new way to make a buck.

The practices of the Ghost Investigators Society (who show up on CTC fairly often) are persuasive.... they don't sell anything, don't have anything set up to make money off what they do. Of course, EVP can be manufactured using most desktop audio manipulation programs (and a lot of the stuff on the Internet no doubt is), but these guys have invested too much of their time and money into finding actual EVP, at no return, for me to believe it's all an elaborate hoax.

The idea of using white noise for EVP communication has been around since the early 1940's.

Lots of people invest lots of time and money in things that are basically ridiculous. How many people waste *years* looking for Bigfoot and Nessie? Investingating the "Bermuda Triangle"? Looking for Ancient Astronauts?
Hell, astrology and televangelism suck up vast amounts of effort, time and money that could be spent on better things. I am just old enough to remember all that twaddle about "pyramid power" sharpening razor blades and the like.
"Martha was repeatedly recording the voice of a grumpy old man. She decided that it might be her grandfather. When she asked, "Can you tell me the grump's name," you hear the sarcastic response,
"Tell her it's Satan!" The "Tell her it's Satan" portion has been amplified.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.........
> ... been around since the early 1940's.
And probably sooner. It took photographers about 5 seconds to realize they could make "spirit photographs," so audio techs doing the same is not surprising.
LOL. I can almost believe you aren't joking.
