Vanity: has the ACLU EVER been on the right side of any case, ever?
My twisted mind | 22 Dec | Me

Posted on 12/22/2004 4:46:33 AM PST by MikefromOhio

Can any of the FReepers ever remember a case in which the ACLU was on the right side of things? I am having some trouble.

After seeing how hard they are going after Christians and Christmas this season, this thought just popped into my head so I figured I would as the best source of information on the net, the good people of Free Republic.

I understand they have a first rate bartender. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

I've been trying to come up with a new handle for the ACLU..they need a new moniker..the first two letters are easy.."Anti-Christian"..but the last two have a world of possibilities..

There have been rare occassions. Usually involving free speech. I think there were against campaign finance reform for one.

The are behind Rush in his battle to keep his medical records private. That's about the only thing I can think of.

I remember when G. Gordon Liddy went to the ACLU and asked for help. They tried to sue him instead.

The ACLU is like a blind squirrel, they find a nut once in a while.

The ACLU, I think is on Rush's side in his controversy with the DA in Palm Beach over his medical records

Shouldn't one criteria for posting a vanity be whether the poster has something new or interesting to say?

No, then it really wouldn't be a vanity. The value of the vanity is in its worthlessness.

Rush.
Every now and then, you will see them take up a case and wonder why? I think they do it to give the misleading impression they are independent, and not beholden to a liberal agenda. It does not work for me.

The ACLU was founded by Stalinists as a classic Marxist front group to dupe the naive, via a clever and seductive pseudo-libertarian "cover story." This is one of the most long-lived and by far most successful of the old Communist front groups.

The intention of the ACLU has however always been to destroy the United States from within, via misuse of our nation's own laws, utilizing a small army of evil and traitorous lawyers.

Occasionally, and with the express desire to fool people, they will send out deceptive red herring legal briefs, such as the ACLU's "support" for Rush Limbaugh. Don't be deceived; it is only a trick. Look at the real 99% of what the ACLU does overall.

They always like to trot out the Skokie rally where they defended the Nazi Party's right to march as an example of their "Even Handedness". I'm not so sure this is on the 'Right' side of anything but they seem to think it provides some cover against the correct classification of them as radical, anti-free speech and hate mongering.

thats cool...

I was kind of hoping you would respond, being that you are a former ACLU member....

Do they do meetings or something or how do they disseminate information about what cases to take, support and whatnot?
