Thanks to a typo, Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry has gotten even fewer electoral votes than he thought he had.
That's because an error posted New York state's 31 electoral votes over to somebody named "John L. Kerry."
Sheepish state officials say they're rushing out corrected copies of New York's electoral documents. They admitted the mistake earlier today, after the official "certificate of vote" appeared on the National Archives Web site.
A New York state official says the ballots themselves are correct. But nobody noticed the document error.
Massachusetts Senator John F. Kerry carried New York as the Democratic nominee for president, but lost the national election to President Bush.
I'm not surprised that the New York electors would write an incorrect middle initial for John F. Kerry. Senator Kerry has always been conscious not to publicize anything that may point to a connection between him and President John F. Kennedy. That's also why Senator Kerry refused to talk about his military service (in Korea, I believe it was) until President Bush decided to make his service in the Texas Air National Guard the centerpiece of his campaign.
The L stands for Liar. NY got it right.
Sheesh -- he even flip-flops on his middle initial!
Why would they notice, L is for loser.
Kerry
Massachusetts is a Commonwealth, not a State.
I guess that answers the questions about who the votes will be credited to.
And the "L" stands for LOSER! and LIAR! and we all know the "F" stood for FAKE, FRAUD and FAILURE
And several more voted for Pat Buchanan because they couldn't follow the arrows.
THAT was funny!
Bump!
Talk about insult to injury......
Won't you leave that popor man alone?! (I mean John L. kerry, not the John F#@% Kerry!)
Does this mean I live in a red state now?
It's also posted here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1305510/posts
with a pic of the incorrect name and this link:http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x182925
to DU in which we learn that they don't "get it".
It wasn't Korea. It was Cambodia. You really should have listened more carefully to what he didn't say. LOL
OTTOMH I can only think of Mass and Virginia!
Boy what's his name really wasn't supposed to win this was he ;-)
Thanks for the links. I tried to read their posts, but they don't make any sense. There's a disconnect in their brains.
A transcript of the DU posters trying to read:
"Didn't New York go to Kerry?"
"New York elected John F. Kerry."
"yes...and he get's the state's votes."
"And , the point is ????"
"Why are we looking at this? For encourgement? I don't get this."
I thought it was a very succint summation. LOL!!!
