One of the hardest parts of the deployment for Ryan was stopping the adoption of a baby girl from China. There are no kids left in the US to adopt?

You can adopt in the US? When did this get started? :)

What a guy... and perhaps we've found the candidate to run against Fast Eddie Rendell in 2006?

I am proud of Frank Ryan and wish him well. With guys like this around, we can never lose.
Where do we find such patriots?
To: Smogger
Merry Christmas to you, too.

Good for him and better for us. Tough old bastards are a valuable national resource and we need more of them.

You hit upon the same line as I. God Bless this guy, but we have enough "immigrants" in this country. It is my understanding that there are many US kids available for adoption. However, they are often two or so, as in brothers and sisters. If you have room for one, and are so inclined, it would seem to me that there has to be room for two. JMO

I agree that the Tough Old Birds, bring much wisdom with them. The younger warriors can learn from the older...I think it is a good thing......

Consider it "liberation" of a baby.

Man some of you guys have some serious issues. The man can adopt whoever he damn well wants and there may be specific reason why he is adopting this child.
It's not your damn place to criticize.

Do a search on this site Walker and you will find a story posted either today or yesterday by a FReeper celebrating his current adoption. Then come back and give us some more expert feedback......

Their are plenty of kids in the U,S. but the adoption agency make it so hard to adopt and It cost a small fortune also, My brother inlaw tried years ago and all the bull they had to endure and red tape they gave up and adopted 2 Korean girls with little or no B.S. and lived happily ever-after the girls both are college bound and doing very well.
