SHOP AT TARGET -- THEY SUPPORT LGBTQ FAMILIES
Rainbow Law is calling for the LGBTQ community to support and shop at Target stores this holiday season. After Target refused to allow the Salvation Army to place bell-ringers and kettles at their stores (because they discriminate against the LGBTQ community), the anti-gay equality crusaders began their usual lies and propaganda campaign.
There is no reason to let this attack go unchallenged. We have the power to counter the far right's relentless assault on our civil rights and liberties. And one of the most effective methods for defeating unfair practices is by using the power of our combined financial resources.
Why would you continue to support companies who donate millions of dollars to campaigns and politicians who are hell-bent on destroying your family?
Rainbow Law has compiled a detailed list of the companies that contributed money in support of campaigns and candidates who oppose equal marriage rights and we are calling for a general boycott of these companies. [FReepers take note: please support these companies to counteract any pressure the LGBT might bring!]
To win the election at any cost, political campaigns lied about Gay and Lesbian Families and they lied about what Equal Marriage really means. Because of those lies, eleven state constitutional amendments banning equal marriage rights passed.
And the opposition was successful in spreading the lies via the media. That is why Rainbow Law also suggests that we find an alternative to mainstream newspapers, television and radio stations. Especially Clear Channel Communications and Fox Television -- two media giants with a proven right-wing bias and agenda.
For an alternative perspective, turn the channel -- listen to and support your local public broadcasting stations. Watch your Public Broadcasting station for the news. Listen to National Public Radio and Air America Radio and read newspapers and magazines like Rainbow Law's Un-Censored E-Zine.
In addition to supporting Target Corporation for their courage to stand up to injustice, we hope you will think queer as you make any purchase.
Instead of spending money at straight-owned enterprises, purchase products from queer owned or queer friendly merchants. When you are in the market for a new home, car, insurance, etc, support people who support your family. If you need help at work or at home, hire queer people to do things.
In the past, boycotts have been used successfully to pressure corporate supporters of bigoted politicians into withdrawing their financial contributions.
Together we have the power to make a difference!
Real men don't support perversion. The sodomite is a human male who has chosen to opt of his responsibility to be a man. And the Target Corporation has evidently chosen to side with these perverts. I hope they reap the whirlwind as a result.
People should,be allowed to shop where they please for whatever reason they please....whether or not their reasons for not shopping doesn't please you.
Maybe they won't shop at a place because they don't like the store manager...Maybe they don't like the fact that the waitresses wear skimpy clothes....or whatever!!!<<>Its America...Get over it.
Yep. Target Corporation has a right to cater to sodomites, and I can only hope their balance sheet suffers mightily as a result.
Re # 203....I'm with you on that one.
I DON'T CARE!
They are supporting the ENEMY...I don't need the SOP they throw at what are probably RINOOBL's! Supporting my enemy, while limiting good charities actions is wrong!
Boycott, and bring them to heel! Enough with the LBGTQ chorus that are NOT a majority in America...enough BOHICA for their causes!
"Are Gay and Queer two different "minority ethnic groups" now?"
No they are "homo"genous with each other. ;o)
F-Target.
I will brave Wallyworld.
Target supports Gays and sells Lincoln Logs! My God man open your eyes!
LSMFT ....
So we are supposed to boycott Target because the men in their ads are "queer looking"?
ROFL!
That's the first time I ever quoted Snopes. It won't happen again. I bet their bias is common knowledge, and I'm the only one who didn't know.
I checked with www.TruthOrFiction.com . They said the same thing as Snopes (about Target.) I checked to see what they had to say about kerry's Bronze Star, and they used a lot of words without really saying anything. A step up from Snopes' blatant lies.
Gee...I got so wrapped around this issue a couple of weeks ago that I passed up donating to Teen Challenge outside our local Target 'cause I wrongly assumed it was Dem-Dam-Dim-Dum-Domocrats...
Oops.
Why not? But if you had read on, what was being discussed is Target's ban on the Salvation Army. They did this because they couldn't take the political pressure from the sodomites.
Target is owned by Daytn Hudson as far as i know, and Senator Dayton is part of that family.
"Q" when only "Queer" will do.
In Minnesota we call him Senator Marshall Field's.
Please, someone, take him away! Anbody?.....Anyone? (crickets)
As for reaping the whirlwind, didn't you once in all seriousness tell me that you thought non-christians should be publically beaten? I'll bet if I searched back I could find the message.
I admire your ability to think the issue through instead of having a knee jerk reaction. According to some, I suppose I must stop reading Oscar Wilde, enjoying Noel Coward plays and listening to Melissa Etheridge. The suggestion that you should recuse yourself is laughable. It is alarming when so many are willing to believe the worst about any corporation or person with out seriously investigating the matter or giving the subject of rumor a chance to reply.
I will continue to shop at Target. I do not think there is such a thing as a perfect place to shop but it sure as heck would take more proof then these threads to spurn me to boycott Target.
I did not say the ban on SA was urban legend. I said the urban legend that Target did not support Veterans groups also expanded to include the false statement that Target supported Gay and Lesbian causes. It is my belief that Rainbow Law took that part of the urban legend as being true and it morphed into their contention that Target banned Salvation Army because Salvation Army discriminated against the GLBTWHOGIVESASH*T group. Target did ban Salvation Army for reasons I do not exactly agree with.
But it was not because of pressure from the " all those letter" groups.
