Open borders is a security risk. An ineffective INS is also a security risk. We must secure our borders and ports, or we will not survive the War on Terrorism.

Nope. Makes no sense at all. If you have money and a false identity (and if you can get yourself from the Mid East to Mexico, you do) why walk into this country when you can fly? If you are against open borders because you feel like your job is threatened, fine. But the idea that we need to go to the obscene expense of closing our borders for security purposes is insulting to the intelligence.
