Just mentioned on FNC:
Dining facility on U.S. Base in Iraq hit by rocket attack- 10 dead
Waiting for more info...
Mosul? I believe Blair was in Baghdad. Prayers going up.
Let's hope its a case of the (moronic) media confusing 'casualty' with 'fatality'.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - An explosion at a U.S. base near the northern city of Mosul on Tuesday caused "multiple causalities," the U.S. military said.
The cause of the blast, which occurred around noon, was under investigation, the statement said.
A military spokesman in Mosul declined to give further details.
The U.S. Army's Task Force Olympia is based in this predominantly Sunni Muslim city.
Fox News is reporting at least 10 dead and at least 50 injured. A mix of US troops and Iraqi Guard. Casulty count could rise. Fox News reporting that it was a mortar attack, direct hit on a dining area around lunch time.
War is hell. We have got to hit these f#$kers back hard.
Have they said where this happened? My son is in Ramadi
Yes. That's what I'm hearing... Mosul.
From Foxnews.com:

Thanks for the update. Prayers for the families of these brave soldiers
Mosul
It wouldn't be the first time, would it. You'd think they'd keep that in mind before they terrify families and friends with their darn reportage.
Grief-stricken at the loss of our finest.
Angry at the cowardice of the terrorists who did this.
I hate them.
OH! how I hate them.
May God comfort the families who will receive the bad news this day and may he protect the rest of our troops.
Oh no......
Blast at U.S. Base in Mosul, Many Casualties - U.S.
MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - An explosion at a U.S. military base in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Tuesday caused many casualties, the U.S. military said in a statement.
"At 12 p.m. today an explosion occurred at a U.S. military installation in Mosul causing multiple casualties," it said, giving no details. "The cause of the explosion is under investigation."
Lieutenant Colonel Paul Hastings, a spokesman for Task Force Olympia in Mosul, said he would release no more details for the time being.
Mosul, Iraq's third biggest city, has seen incessant violence for the past few weeks since Sunni Arab insurgents routed the U.S.-trained police force in November while many U.S. forces were concentrated on storming guerrilla bases in Falluja.
Ethnic tensions have also been inflamed in a city that is home to both Arabs and Kurds.
Must have been a security lapse somewhere, or an 'inside job' maybe. Very demoralizing to have a mess hall attacked.
I was reading on Fox where there was a large demontration in Mosul, any connections?
Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) -- An explosion at a U.S. military base in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul caused ``multiple casualties,'' the U.S. military said in an e-mailed statement.
The cause of the blast, which took place at noon local time, is under investigation, according to the statement, which didn't specify how many people have been killed or wounded.
Mosul was the scene last month of a flare up in violence as insurgents took advantage of the U.S. focus on a military operation in Fallujah, west of Baghdad. The U.S. and Iraq were forced to deploy troops to Mosul on Nov. 11 after insurgents seized several of the city's police stations.
U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, making a surprise visit to Baghdad today, and his Iraqi counterpart Ayad Allawi, pledged today to hold Iraq's elections on time on Jan. 30, in the face of violence which Allawi said he expected to increase as that date draws nearer.
Since the November escalation of violence in Mosul, U.S. and Iraqi security forces have had to repel insurgent attacks on police stations there on at least six occasions, according to the military.
My thoughts and prayers to those involved and with all Families now awaiting any kind of word.
I am heart broken by this news.God be with all our Military.
My son just returned home from there.
Praise God! And please tell him "thank you" for me.
