Hope the pilot is OK, but isn't that a quarter billion dollar plane?

Hope the pilot is well. Looks like we are pushing the envelope which is a good thing in the long run.

Those two pilots are obviously not in the same unit.

Prayers for the pilot and prayers for the program.
The Raptor may not be perfect (way expensive, and it needs better range if we need it against China), but it is critical for air superiority this upcoming decade.

how does any one know if it crashed? Isn't it stealth?

You don't push envelopes with aircraft like this. You evaluate them per standards to validate performance vs. modeled data. Obviously there was either a defect or the expected result was not correct. I never got to test fly something brand new but did a lot of post maint test flying. Both can bite you.

Agreed.
If the pilot ejected I am comfortably certain he is or will be fine.

Hope the pilot is OK, but isn't that a quarter billion dollar plane? It depends how you allocate the costs. What matters is not the sunk cost to develop the F-22 but the incremental cost to build another one.

I didn't think there were any units except for the test pilots. A buddies son is flying those.

Nah! Junk the program and buy the Eurofighter instead.
