JUST THREE DAYS after a jury gave Scott Peterson the death penalty for killing his wife and their unborn child, authorities in Missouri issued an Amber Alert for a baby that had been cut from its mother's womb eight months into her pregnancy. The unusual confluence of these events provides a sign that Americans are taking the rights of unborn children more seriously.
Peterson was convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of his pregnant wife, Laci. He was convicted of second-degree murder in the killing of Conner, their unborn child. Laci was eight months pregnant. In the Missouri case, someone strangled 23-year-old Bobbi Jo Stinnett and cut her child out of her womb. She also was eight months pregnant.
After Stinnett's body was found, authorities issued an Amber Alert, which warns law enforcement officers to be on the look out for an abducted child. It is believed to be the first Amber Alert issued for an unborn baby.
Laci and Conner's murder led Congress to pass the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which counts the killing of an unborn child as murder. Now we have an Amber Alert issued for a baby whose mother, under different circumstances, might have legally been allowed to kill it with a partial-birth abortion.
America is waking up to the realization that unborn babies are more than appendages of the mother's flesh. They are living human beings, and as such they deserve both physical and legal protection.
BUMP
CNN Headline News never waivered from their "STOLEN FETUS" graphic. They are still using it this morning. I hate CNN, but it and the Weather Channel are all we get at work sometimes. Everytime I see that "STOLEN FETUS" on the screen, I yell "It's a baby". I think my co-workers are sick of hearing me go on about it, but it really pisses me off.
Yeah, that fetus stuff was ridiculous. I don't know why the murderers of children think that calling a baby by its latin name changes things.
I guess they are relying on their cohorts in the schools to keep our people ignorant.
bttt!
The "fetus" was taken across a state line. Will the US Government file charges for "kidnapping"? hmmmm?
Yes, she has been charged with kidnapping resulting in murder, which is confusing -- should it not be "murder resulting in kidnappng?"
