Thanks again for your donation, jw. I thought if I replied one more time I might get some additional help from your wife, your sister,...LOL

I'll take all the help I can get.

Best of happiness and good fortune to you and yours in the New Year.

I delivered a box of Christmas candies and packages of AT&T calling cards to the USO at the airport.

They were closed, at prime time in the early evening. They left no message, such as "We'll be back in 10."

I then borrowed the door-opening skills of two Airport Police and left the box inside the USO station.

I would like to thank the police, for being there and lending their support to this complex operation.

On Christmas I donated $150 through the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Will you match that?
Here is text from their effort "Operation Uplink";

"Operation Uplink is a unique program that keeps military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families and loved ones by providing them with a free phone card. Using contributions from supporters like you, Operation Uplink purchases phone cards and distributes them to servicemen and women who are separated from those they care about."

FS-

thanks for your donation. I will admit to being confused as to the local USO hours myself. maybe it is contigent on when they can get volunteers, I don't know.

I will also admit I admire your diligence and persistence. Too Stupid to Quit actually works.

hats off to the boys in blue, and to you as well. I am certain your donation will be appreciated.

JS-

as I noted in Post 35 I have already mailed my check for $500 to the USO/Korea. I consider my plegde fulfilled, and that is all I can contribute at this time.

this looks like a very worthy cause, however. I will check it out, and appreciate your posting a link. perhaps it is a candidate for the next challenge.

thank you for your donation.

We have supported the USO in the past but I'm not sure what to do after getting the USO Calendar and seeing Ben Affleck's face plastered on January 2005. That and learning that wiseass self proclaimed political commentator comic Al Franken was on a tour as well.

Someone tell me why I should continue to support this outfit...
