New Cuba-Venezuela alliance: Castro, Chavez sign alternative to NAFTA

Cuba's Fidel Castro welcomed Venezuela's Hugo Chavez to the Karl Marx Theater in Havana and signed an agreement of unity that is designed to be an alternative to the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Two documents were signed that the leaders say constitute the highest expression of unity and the will of both governments to increase the range of cooperation and bilateral relations in general -- a joint declaration and a agreement for the application of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas, or ALBA.

"ALBA is the antithesis of the annexationist Free Trade Agreement of the Americas that the United States is attempting to impose," said a semi-official report from the Cuban government.

Chavez received the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Order, by agreement of the Council of State. Castro quoted de Céspedes, known as the father of the nation who, in reference to the great country of Bolívar remarked: "Venezuela, which opened the way of independence to Spanish America and traveled it gloriously until Ayacucho, is our illustrious teacher of freedom."

Chavez praised Castro, Che Guevara and Salvador Allende, the deposed leader of Chile.

"We are in full battle, and this will be long, hard, and difficult," added Chávez, who confirmed that only the fortitude of the Venezuelan people had made it possible to undertake the Bolivarian Revolution.

It's absolutely laughable. What does Chavez get out of this? Castro brings nothing, absolutely nothing, to the table. Chavez is bowing down as Castro's slave, a repellent spectacle, given Venezuela's spectacular oil wealth and the power they can use with it.

Soon Venezuelans will share in the luxurious lifestyle expereienced by Cubans. (While Chavez loads up his Swiss bank accounts with billions in stolen oil money)

Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas, or ALBA

Does this make Chavez an Albanian?

What does Chavez get out of this?

A cover for his dictatorship, as he steals billions.

Well, what exactly
do we get out of NAFTA?
You might as well say

"Soon Americans
will share the luxurious
life of Mexicans . . ."

These are just the ways --
the weird, political ways --
countries, these days, act.

Castro is a lunatic, but a lot of his financial resources dried up when the Soviet Union collapsed. He is turning Chavez into his puppet and Castro will get billions from this deal. That could make Cuba very dangerous.

Castro will be dead before Bush leaves office. Chavez will be isolated, and perhaps defeated at the polls.

Castro is a tough old rat. He has survived 10 US Presidents.

As for Chavez, he does have the slightest intention of holding a free election.

Iran and china also have interests in cuba. Anyone that wants to hurt the USA is either openly or covertly supporting these thugs.

I can't see the url for this, but if you want more info on
it, use google and search for the labs name and for other Cuba info.

Cuba is a danger to us, it is manufacturing bio-weapons and has been for years.

Cuba has every weapon that China and Russia have for sale.

This report, is from a group that I read sometimes.

New Biotechnological Facilities in Cuba

New biotechnological facilities to produce the elements used to make vaccines
were inaugurated in Cuba this month.

One of the plants will produce the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) to
make six kinds of vaccines.

The pharmaceutical ingredients will be used to make vaccines against tetanus,
diphtheria, pertussis, hepatitis B and the Haemophilus influenzae type B.

Another plant was built at the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center and
will produce the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient to make the vaccine against
the Haemophilus influenzae.

In addition, a pilot plant will produce the clinical trials that will guarantee
de APIs that will be used in a therapeutic vaccine against lung cancer.

Experts are working to duplicate the production capacity of the AICA
Pharmaceutical Laboratories, which produce vials, eye drops, aerosols and other
medications.

No, just his obedient houseboy.

What Chavez gets out of Castro is an absolutely mysterious! Chavez is sitting on a mountain of gold, black gold, and doesn't need to take orders from anyone. But he can't stop drooling over Castro and giving him Venezuelan free oil - Castro owes him a billion dollars so far and has no intention of paying and Chavez is only too happy to ship him some more, something of which he does not own, the scumbag.
