What a load of crap. The transparency of this is obvious to those with I.Q.'s below 70 - these are people who, for personal motive (Hagel) or otherwise, dislike Rumsfeld, and are jumping at this non-issue to damage him. At some point, after enough of these non-issues are raised, you will hear the lamentation - "well, it's not this incident - but rather the cumulative weight of all of the previous non-issues" than demands his resignation. Ugh.

The President needs to make a statement and get behind Rumsfeld and shut this stuff down. Now.

You're observation is correct.
It is just another non-issue. Perhaps you and others in support of Rummy could voice all of his accomplishments and why you staunchily support this man?

I really dont know enough about him and what he has done one way or the other but I am curious about staunch supporters and why you feel so strongly.

Oh, good. That means even Ted Kennedy will understand it.

What is the total number of hand written and signed letters of condolences has ANY member of the Senate sent to the survivors of their constituents????? Inquiring minds want to know.

Make them show us the letters they've written. When they can't, make them RESIGN.

I'm a retired army type and my career spanned nam to GWI. In every case, it fell either to the commander or chaplain to personaly write the families of both KIA and WIA troops. When did it become customary for the CIC or SECDEF to send such letters or is this because of the introduction of boilerplates and word processors?
