The audacity!

Another example of how our internal anti-US element encourages such notions of giving foreign terrorists and dictators all the leeway in their defense.

What they want to do is turn this into a trial not about Saddam's atrocities and murders in over a million innocent people, but have a trial about the right of the US to invade Saddam and depose him.

I guess the liberals would like to see Saddam back in power.

Waitaminute. The Leftists keep talking about how idyllic Saddam's rule in Iraq was. So why would Saddam fear trial by his own subjects in his own country?

It would seem the defense's reason behind this becomes moot, once Iraqi elections are held. Could the new government could indict(re-indict?)him on something else ?

for God's sake!Take this guy and all of his cronies out and publicly hang them. Even that would be better than they deserve. All this nicey nice politically correct stuff is
seen as weakness by the enemy and merely gives them hope to keep fighting , that if they get caught and not killed , they will merely be comfortably imprisoned no matter what volume of heinous deeds they do. These beings need to be totally expunged from the human race! And all their seed....
I imagine if Satan himself were on trail , all the human rights org and attorneys would be crying out for due process.
Eye for an eye , let the Iraqi victims have their way with them.

--The leaked brief, entitled “The Iraqi Special Tribunal as Victors’ Justice — the Inherent Illegality and Bias of the whole Process”, argues that US law should prevail in the case because the trial is effectively being taken at the behest of the Americans--

That's right we are requesting a trial. If we were not the Iraqis would have killed the SOB by now. Of course the best trial would be to drop Saddam into Kurdish Territory, and see how long he can live. :-)
