Faithfreedom.org appeals to the level headed world to write to the Iranian President Mohammad Khatami to tell him that the woman must not be killed.

Khatami is politically weak. The problem probably goes past him. It's the hardliner Guard Council. It's "supreme leader" Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. They control power in Iran.

I think that they're playing good cop - bad cop with us. They stick Khatami out there to say that Iran is moderating, but, at the same time, they continue their nuke development.

We have to be very careful not to take the bait. Fortunately we elected a Republican president, so it's less likely they will be able to pull it off.
