John Kerry picked up 17 votes and George W. Bush lost six in Cuyahoga County's presidential recount.
That means the county still went for Kerry giving him 448,503 votes compared with 221,600 for Bush.
Cuyahoga was among 45 of Ohio's 88 counties that completed recounts by Friday, according to the Associated Press. Numbers for the two major candidates changed little, though.
Bush added 303 votes to his state total; Kerry gained 443. The higher numbers were due mainly to hanging chads falling from ballot cards, the Associated Press reported.

Have to wonder why this was even posted.
The Democrats, the Libertarians, the Greens. Wasting your tax dollars, recount after silly recount.
What pray tell is a hanging chad..sounds painfull.
If Kerry picks up 23 votes in every Ohio county that means he will gain 2024 votes state wide. At this rate in order for Kerry to win in Ohio, he will need 59 recounts.
Thank you for the clarification. We have won in Ohio, thanks to people of sound mind.

Will their whining never cease?
I guess you slept through the 2000 Election.
You my friend need a "chad education". In 2000, we learned that there were not only hanging chads, but there were also pregnant and dimpled ones, LOL!
I just checked CriticalBill's FReeper page and I think he's in Australia.
Don't think the Dems wouldn't try that. Just as long as the taxpayers are footing the bill.
We still use punch card ballots in some precincts in Ohio. Supposedly you can punch the card and not fully detach the perforated hole completely.
I have been voting on these for over 20 years and have yet to discover an incomplete punch or hanging chad and I check for it each time. The only way that something like this could happen is if the voter puts the card in the machine upside down and there is a big red warning about that.
But DUmmies and Rats probably could manage to do that since they are generally drunk or high when they vote.
In any event, it is known throughout quality circles that the accuracy goes down, not up with recounts.
We in Ohio are ticked that these idiots are forcing a recount and wasting taxpayer money. They will get even fewer votes the next time around.
True to form though the Plain Dealer article still includes references to supposed voting "irregularities", etc. Its important to keep debunking the wild conspiracy theories of these fools - since they use the old marxist trick of saying, "but see, there are hundreds of articles about the voting issues so they must be real".
Its also fun - the folks championing these claims are classic leftist fantasists - convinced they are right, ready to see a conspiracy everywhere, and utterly clue free.
I worked hard to get out some of those 221,600 votes. The recount reassures me of the importance of going to C. County.
Not only is it the largest Democratic-controlled area of the state, but it is the biggest rotting cesspool of the state. Coincidence? I think not.
I hope the Ohio legislature does away with the law that has allowed for this "nuisance recount".

If that's the case, I hope the DemocRATS want to recount PA next time.
That is the definition of 'RAT infested.
A rotting cesspool? That is unfortunate. When I went to Cleveland in 1995 it looked like a nice city, at least the limited parts I saw. The surrounding areas were clean and well kept too. I'm guessing parts of Cleveland must be pretty rough though.
Ever take the train through Baltimore? That is one dumpy looking place. Yet they have only had Democrat mayors for decades. And they keep winning. Gee, I wonder why?
The normal effect of recounts in our state (NH) is to slightly increase the number of votes for each candidate. This results from application of the law's requirement to attempt to determine the intent of the voter. Usually the recounters catch a few ballots where the voter didn't mark the ballot in a way that the machine could see, but did choose one candidate or the other. (for example by circling the candidates name, or writing "I like him" with an arrow...) Recount teams have representatives from both candidates and decide by vote what they think the intent of the voter was.
Of course the DU wingnuts then shout "see, the machines don't count all the votes".
