This is not a new problem. The restructuring of the Army into Units of Action makes the distribution of women problematic.

We studied this in the Marine Corps 20 years ago... As the Marine Corps was organized then we found that if you allowed more than 1/6 of the Marine Corps to be women you would have to use them in combat or you would not be able to make other important constraints for both men and women (career paths (i.e.,promotions), equitable assignments, etc.)

A solution can be found to the need to keep women out of combat units, combat support, and combat service support units as envisioned in the Unit of Action concept, but the result will be an adjustment (in the Army's case most likely downward) of the total number of women in uniform.

Nahh, just create 'all-female' combat platoons, companies, battalions, divisions, etc.

That way, no male will lose his life to the inability of women to do the job. At the same time, the women will push their co-workers to achieve the male standards because THEY will know that if the standard isn't met, there will be no man to save them.

Women in the military have had lower standards and an easy ride knowing that a man would pick up the slack. Putting the women into an 'all-female' unit will ensure that they will pull their own weight, as there will be no one to do it but themselves.

And if the 'all-female' combat units suffer large numbers of casualties... Well, the feminists won't be able to complain, as they got what they wanted. As for the rest of America, I think that they'd be very upset to learn that the casualties were caused by liberal feminist policy.

There would be happy liberals and American voters angry at the same happy liberals, which would equal more Republicans voted into office.

Which would lead to less women in the military.

Altogether, that would be a win-win situation.

:-)

More likely, an adjustment of standards downward, to accomodate the gals along with informal quotas for the officer corps. It has already been army policy to maintain a floor for gals going in to the Engineer and Aviation branches.
