We know that Fox, among others, has people who regularly scan FreeRepublic for items of interest. I want to take advantage of that to try to get some ideas in front of Roger Ailes and crew.
I'm going to lay out my ideas below, but I have a feeling that not only will others have their own equally good, or better, ideas, but that there will also be folks who think my ideas are way off base. So be it. That's the idea behind posting this here, so that there can be open discussion of what is of interest to folks "like us," Freepers, pajamahadeen, et al. Maybe some bits and pieces of a discussion like this will actually get to the powers that be at Fox and have some impact. FR tends to give one delusion of grandeur anyway, so why not?
So, here goes...

Fox News needs to do this:
When Greta ends go to The Factor...then at Midnight go to a show called Midnight at Fox...have it in a news/talk format and have it based out of the west coast so it could be live. Then from 1-3 AM have SKY News live. I for one hate the fact that FOX insists on replaying some of their shows 3 and 4 times in a 8 hour period..it is insane.
4-5 AM have a Fox Sports re-cap of the previous day. They can easily do this and just transfer a program over from their other network...maybe Best Damn Sports Show Period.
5 AM...go live at regular Fox...get on-air for the love of God. CNN and MSNBC are already live at 5 am while FOX waits til 6. Never understood why they let them win this time slot when it is so critical with millions of American's waking up at 5 AM.
Time to get rid of shows like Heartland with Kasich..it blows. Re-fire up the weekend programming. Keep Cal Thomas on Newswatch...nothing else. His show is dreadful. Have more coverage of world stories and human interest stories in this country. Have a few reality shows of life with military families who have loved one's away at war. Get really behind the scenes.
I could give a list of people who need to be canned but I don't feel like typing for the next 2 hrs.
Sooooooo, can I safely assume that you do "NOT" like business shows?
I'd like to see LIVE traitor hangings. I can think of a few we can run thru a kangaroo court string up. One in particular, that should've spent past 30 years in jail, instead off being free to run his mouth.
I would prefer Juliet, Tony Snow, Jane Skinner....lol
I enjoy it too...I watch every Sat. Morning...
Ditto that
LOL!!! Same thing I was thinking (trying to turn drool off...).
Also, more blonds (They have one non-blond woman, correct?)
I won't get into the more cleavage and leg issue.
Oh yeah, and since it's a free-for-all, Get John (the) McLaughlin (group) to bring over his One on One from PBS...
That is probably the best interview show I have ever seen.
Agree on Special Report. That should be on FOX Broadcast, like FNS.
Get rid of all the damn pundits!!! I get so fed up with retired Generals asked about strategies that they cannot comprehend because the military has changed so much since they were commanding troops. Tommy Franks gets fed up with them also. He said so in his book.
I like Fox overall, but cannot stand watching Greta, and haven't for quite some time. One year of non-stop Scott Peterson coverage, or maybe it just seems that way.
This show may be disposable, but Linda Vester isn't. She's sharp, smart, and great looking. I would give her a prime time spot. She can replace Greta.
The FNC business shows are all really good and sometimes, even entertaining. Cavuto and Brit Hume are the two best features of FNC -- lose them and you've lost the network.
JOHN STOSSEL (from 20/20) NEEDS A SHOW ON FOX
He is VERY Balanced, he just interviewed Crichton on Global WARMING
They have a jem in John Gibson, I sure hope they know it and expand his role. What you suggested was excellent concering Gibson. I believe he is the most under-rated at Fox.
This is one of my favorite topics and I've been ranting to Fox News about their "move to the left" since before the elections. However, SINCE the election, they seem to be re-energized to present the TRUTH (which benefits us). I think the election reinforced their original model for success.
O'Reilly has done a 180 degree turnaround. I actually like his show again. He is really staying on the "traditional values" stump.
I agree that Hannity & Colmes has become an hour of ranting. Colmes is playing the "victim" all the time.
Gibson, Hume, Cavuto, Williams, their reporters....they're doing very well. I especially like their "non-PC" Christmas ads.
Fox News is for the majority in this country, their rating reflect it and they know it. We can't expect much more.
Yep, for the life of me I don't know why it isn't. They could reach another 50-100 million homes probably.
RE Bill O'Reilly "...pompous, arrogant, intolerant of others, horrible interviewing style, random opinions with usually no logic except "I'm right, I'm always right."
Its not just his personal mannerisms that, to me, make him ineffective as a host; it is also his lack of credibility. Who is Bill OReilly, where has he been, and what has he ever done to establish any credibility with the American people? Except for a few years as a high school teacher, he has done nothing to cause me to value his opinion on anything. Since his teaching days, he has been nothing but a journalist, and as such he is a member of a very questionable profession.
Can you imagine how great Bill OReillys time slot would be if someone with the experience and credibility of Oliver North hosted the show?
Only one thing should change. All Laurie Dhue, all the time.
