And meanwhile at the Catholic college of John Carroll outside of Cleveland, Bishop Pilla and JCU President Glynn were prepared to attend a rally for John Kerry:

Danke, Steubenville!

Great article. The Catholic vote was crucial in the re-election of President Bush.

But, as they say, "success has many fathers, and failure is an orphan." then later in the article...
Bush won Ohio by 136,483 votes. All of those votes cant be contributed to Franciscan University, but they could be attributed to the Catholic vote overall.
Should have left it at the first quote, but that would have made a short article that fails to take credit for the Bush win.

Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?

the students from Steubenville are top-notch...they have faithfully protested in front of a particular Pittsburgh abortion clinic every Saturday since Roe v. Wade.
Don't know how much they managed to sway Ohio though...
most of Ohio does not know they exist...Steubenville
is, for all practical purposes, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA
(as in their official Chamber of Commerce slogan...THE

John Kerry and his campaign should have known they were in for trouble when he came to town in September. Franciscan alumnus Michael Hernon joined with university student Gabriel Hahn, son of Catholic apologist Scott Hahn, to organize an anti-Kerry rally where 500 Franciscan University students combined with another 300 Steubenville citizens to protest the visit. I'd like to salute the kids at Wheeling Central Catholic High School as well (a few miles downriver from Steubenville). They joined in the protest of Kerry during his two visits to their town, and showed a lot of energy and commitment to the pro-life cause.

Booyah!
It comes down to people talking. Most people in Churches were supporting Bush. Out of those, even if the support was weak or strong, they cast the vote the right way. Most could not fathom the risk of electing Kerry. Notice that the Methodist Bush got an invite to talk to the Knights of Columbus National Convention, and Kerry got a snub.
In Florida, Baptists and Catholics worked to achieve the goal of reelecting Bush, while the Kerry workers were mostly imports from other states. A few "carpetbaggers" were spotted complaining about Florida, and how weird things were to them, no wonder they had no success. I would LOVE to know how they got paid (or unpaid...)
