To: Red Phillips
Ron Paul has run for president on the Libertarian ticket. He lost, of course. He doesn't have enough name recognition to play with the big boys.

I don't know how 2008 is going to shake out, but, as much as I admire Rudy, he's too liberal to have much appeal in the South.

I knew he ran as a Libertarian. That is part of the point. We need someone with serious third party type ideology running on the Republican ticket. Then maybe we could actually do something silly like cutting spending.

I consider Paul a potential Libertarian/Conservative fusion candidate. He is a right libertarian, not a moral relativistic left libertarian. He is pro-life, anti-imigration, and anti-sovereignty sacrificing trade deals while still being staunchly free-trade.
