Bill Clinton shows such obvious contempt for those who adore himYeah... he gets off on this too.
I bet if he spilled his guts to some pencil-necked shrink, the guy would jump out of the nearest window like that priest in The Exorcist.

Almost no one working alongside me had the slightest inkling of Kerry's policy initiatives (clearly laid out on his Web site).
Hell even Kerry didn't know what his policy was is or will be

This is total Bull Pucky, I called for 6 weeks and asked probably 100 Kerry supporters to give me a reason to vote for him and they couldn't. He never took a position on anything or laid a plan on any issue. Hatred of Bush is not a winning campaign.
Ah so very true but the SCARY thing is he got more votes than Reagan

What did he do in the Senate? He told war stories.

Nobody knows it to this day. Not even Kerry.

Almost no one working alongside me had the slightest inkling of Kerry's policy initiatives (clearly laid out on his Web site). This no longer matters, at least on the Democratic side of the aisle. This is only my opinion, but I believe that most Democratic or lean-Democratic voters knew, vaguely, that Kerry was what they were - anti-traditional morality, baby-boomer hip, big government, anti-war and soak the rich. In a vague way they agree with all these things. Meanwhile, Bush was a Cowboy, pro-life, pro-defense, traditionally minded, and in general all the things that these voters despise, or consider beneath them. So the "machine" will click on for anybody.

I bet if he spilled his guts to some pencil-necked shrink... Bill Clinton's got real problems, and gets along in life only because he is surrounded by people whose only job is to protect him from himself - keep him on schedule, feed him, transport him, hand him his briefings, etc. If he were an ordinary joe, Clinton would possibly be in jail or jobless, with a flotilla of wives, creditors, indictments and bankruptcies trailing behind.
Honestly, I hope he gets help. The party won't go on forever. Eventually, people won't want him around constantly, and Clinton will have to work things out for himself. Seriously, God bless him when that day comes.
To: Cincinatus
That is the point. Not a person could say anything positive of his record except "John Kerry backed three bills that passed naming the month of --- as National Wet Your Pants Day, National Drool Day, etc".

"Most of the Kerry supporters I met on the campaign trail, meanwhile, were really just Bush-haters."
One would be hard-pressed to expect anything more from those rubes who are still susceptible to being programmed by the Old Media's propaganda. Since the news media couldn't give any positive "specifics" about Senator Kerry, neither could his supporters.

I forgot... there's one. cBS's forgers get caught!

The one thing everyone did know? Kerry was not Bush. For most, that was enough. And that, I believe, is the reason why they lost. Can anyone tell me if any presidential candidate in the history of this nation has won strictly on the basis of not being the "other guy"?

This nails Clinton as few have. IF he were to have to live like a normal citizen for a year there is little doubt he could stay out of some sort of legal trouble.
