As a mental health counselor, I am really troubled by the numbers of adolescents that I have counseled who cried for days and hurt for years because they engaged in "safer sex" within dead end, unfulfilling relationships. Sadly, they learned that "safer sex" can be hazardous to their emotional health.
I think the current political debate concerning abstinence vs. contraceptive-based sexual education has failed to include an important variable in the discussion of what to teach in school: sexual well being.

Nope, only twice.
Grandma's birth control
A doctor who had been seeing an 80-year-old woman for most of her life finally retired. At her next checkup, the new doctor told her to a bring list of all the medicines that had been prescribed for her. As the young doctor looked through the list, his eyes grew wide as he realized she had a prescription for birth control pills.
"Mrs. Smith, do you realize these are BIRTH CONTROL pills?!?"
"Yes, they help me sleep at night dearie."
"Mrs. Smith, I assure you there is absolutely NOTHING in these that could possibly help you sleep!"
She reached out and patted the young Doctor's knee. "Yes, dear, I know that. But every morning, I grind one up and mix it in the glass of orange juice that my 16-year-old granddaughter drinks. . . . And believe me, it helps me sleep at night!"
It's apparently is popular column. It just appeared in the local weekly.
The surefire way to keep teenagers from having sex is... have them get married.
mention Abstinence to these kids and they will ask if you snort it or pop it ....
Abstinence, it works every time it is tried.
