My aunt, from Norway, was actually a missionary to England during the second world war. From the uniform she is wearing in a picture I have of her, it looks like she may have been in a Salvation Army type organization. My mom always said she was a missionary, though. Well, at least if we go to England, we will know the language!
I'd do it in a heartbeat, if I was called.
We have praise music in our church but the main focus always is Jesus. Our pastors preach the kinds of sermons that sometimes make you squirm. They're the best kind because it lets you know that something isn't right in your life. Now, what to do about it.....
You may all disagree with me, and I have no special expertise in this field, but I don't think one has to accept the Nativity stories of 2 of the Gospels (e.g., Bethlehem) to be a believing Christian.
You sure its not Cincinatti?
Historically or theologically? ... If He was never born then the second event would not have taken place.
I think Mary was going to Cincinatti, but Jerry Springer and Dennis Kucinich ran them off.
Yeah, but we have to have Christmas before we have Easter.
He needs to be born, you know!
Well, nobody can bend it like 'im....
Way ahead of you. My church has sent missionaries to England.
