You know you're from California if...

You know you're from California if:

1. Your coworker has 8 body piercings and none are visible.

2. You make over $100,000 and still can't afford a house.

3. You take a bus and are shocked at two people carrying on a conversation in English.

4. Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Flower.

5. You can't remember . . . . . is pot illegal?

6. You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor.

7. You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian.

8. You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?

9. A really great parking space can totally move you to tears.

10. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the U.S.

11. The guy at 8:30 am at Starbucks wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney really IS George Clooney.

12. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment.

13. You pass an elementary school playground and the children are all busy with their cells or pagers.

14. It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents.

15. Both you AND your dog have therapists.

16. The Terminator is your governor.

17. If you drive illegally, they take your driver's license. If you're here illegally, they want to give you one.

But I'm moving to Utah later this month, and rumor has it that you have to have a prescription to buy whole bean coffee...

Not true, but you do need to know about what you're buying, because none of the employees will know anything about it.

Mary's Crab Shack!

Just North of Half Moon Bay and just south of the Half Moon Bay Airport. We fly in and walk to Mary's for their soup, steamers, artichokes... yum....
AWESOME!

Mary's Crab Shack!

Is that the place with the red & white checked tableclothes & tinted windows - in a stand alone structure on the ocean side of the loop road that goes through PBTS? If so, thats the place I'm thinking of - great food.

No offense taken, you are right, it has gotten worse but I still hold out hope for it...at least in the valley things are semi normal! If you look at the county election make up you'll find that most of the state is red. It just happens that the bulk of our population reside in the only two big metro areas of LA and SF and it went blue. Merry Christmas to you too and may God direct many blessings your way!

She will enjoy it then--hopefully they have done more on the Civil War part of the park.

We once stayed at Gettysburg College on the way to a Boy Scout jamboree. Very intense place. Haven't been to Fredericksburg or Shiloh, though. Would like to go someday.

Here in WA, we learn a lot about coffee pretty early on. I believe they sell latte-flavored pacifiers...

You know you are from California if you carry a bottle of designer water everywhere you go.

You know you are from California if you think that 15 mph on the freeway is fast.

You know you are from California if your five year old has never seen rain.

Yes, what is it with all the mattress stores? I have been trying to figure that out. It is the same way in Las Vegas. There are almost as many mattress stores as convenience stores!

When you have to put a family of 8 in a two bedroom house ...

There is always hope in everything and I hope California makes a return to the grand state it once was. Thanks for the best wishes.

If you get the opportunity...take it. All of us should. We all need to know more about these battles and actually visiting one even though it may be small, it was still a part of our history.

Because it is beautiful.

I have to agree - I'm from Colorado, living in Virginia, and I'm always astonished by the rugged, incredible beauty of California, especially the coastal region of Northern California. And the weather is nice.

Unfortunately, the political climate is intolerable, and I'll never be able to live there, but what an amazing landscape.

You know you're from California if...

The definition of a 'serial killer' is somebody who suffocates people by stuffing Fruit Loops and Rice Krispies down their throats.

You can only be labeled a 'murderer' if you kill a rodent.

(Hopefully the David Westerfield & the Scott Peterson verdicts are a good sign for our judicial system. Not that they'll ever be executed for their heinous crimes)
