I just can't wrap my brain around this. How did they come to the conclusion to kill the victim instead of the people who sold her into slavery (multiple times) and essentially forced her to endure rape so that they could get money?

That's the way of Islam. Unfortunately, it is regarded by the liberals in this country, and the socialists in Europe, to be the politically correct religion.
