Well, I guess it's going to take planes flying into Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament to convince them. Too bad.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Many people expect some kind of starter cannon to go off, signaling the end of liberty.
Well, it appears that it's working its way here, too. It's already being worked into our system by means of the limitations of free speech which one could argue from the political and religious sides.
From the political sides, it's being worked in there with the campaign finance laws. From the religious side, from the issues of abortion, intelligent design (or the evolution debate, and getting it inside of schools), the ten commandments, and "Christmas" (or the "holidays" if you will...).
The craziness is already here.

Yup, BNP is the old National Front dressed in suit & tie.
However, as the main parties refuse or are too wimpy to hold constructive debate about immigration, role of islam etc, them they can hardly complain if fringe parties arise - as they have in The Netherlands for example.
I read somewhere there has been no substantive debate on immigration in general in parliament since Enoch Powell's "Rivers of Blood" speech in mid 60s !

It comes from "Jewish sensitivies" and not naming the "name of God" -- therefore saying "G-d". It's sort of like how people write swear words here (without "actually" swearing, you see...). Although, I'm not equating the name of God with swear words (mind you).

Up until now I thought the UK erred on the liberal side of free speech.
I kept hearing of some Imam (if that is the correct term for Muslim clergymen) issuing edicts saying it was right for Muslims to resist American and British forces in Iraq, or to kill women and children for such and such, etc.
I always thought that those speeches went beyond the bounds into inciting criminal behavior.
But this, unless there are some important details being left out, is almost too shocking to believe.
It is now a crime to criticize Islam in the UK?
'Eld forth meself. To my chagrin, I missed the opportunity to get all my points in. Here is one that indicates what this poor deluded country has to put up with. Dr. Theodore Dalrymple wrote that a friend had watched Islamists screaming for the death of Salman Rushdie. It was in the streets of a Yorkshire city. The fatwa had just been put out. The friend said to a policeman. "Why do you not arrest that man (screamer) for a "hate crime"?. He persisted and the Bobby said " F- off, or I will arrest you". I stand corrected but it seems a fatwa goes unpunished.
Once again, I do urge people to be careful. What ever Griffin is, and who knows, his views may be "over the top" or whatever, believe this. The BBC are corrupt shills and paid infiltrators then make "news" for them . Then, having created that "news", they put it out as fact. I think Americans have had a little experience with their own major networks. Poor old David Kelly, if anyone remembers. Ah lovely to be on the old internet.
