Ill probably get flamed for this, but they are right. There is no place for a naval curriculum in a public school.

An elective style class (similar to JROTC) is fine, but militarizing a high school curriculum is extreme.

GO ahead and flame me, but please think before you speak.

You should find out some of the facts before YOU speak it greatly reduces the chance of looking like a fool.

This is a program in a school it will only affect those signing up for the program NOT the vast majority of the students.

Disagree. The value of such programs that teach discipline is that they provide order where none may exist, at a time when youth do NOT have to sign their lives away. For young people who get to march in parades and get the respect of the uniform and medals given, such self-esteem boosters may be quite important--especially if the home life is chaotic, harmful, lacking, undisciplined, or outright nonexistant.
