FOX News ^

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The state American Civil Liberties Union (search) plans to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday against a Pennsylvania school district that is requiring students to learn about alternatives to the theory of evolution (search).

The ACLU said its lawsuit will be the first to challenge whether public schools should teach "intelligent design," which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by some higher power....

Thanks. But I was looking specifically for jpsb's reference to criminal action against individuals based upon their reading of the Bible in Church, not for generalized sites dealing with prospective Christian persecution. And yes, I am an attorney, and taking heat for my research skills from someone as grossly ill-informed as you is sobering.

I haven't seen a display of such sweeping ignorance since the deranged Luddites of the ALS gang were here in full force. But this time around the infestation doesn't seem malevolent. Hopeless, unfortunate, even deplorable, but not evil.

Uh, uphill? No idea what you are talking about.

More importantly, you've now button-holed yourself into a position of absolute irrationality. If you think a "flood" could cut the Canyon in a few years, then I really have nothing I could ever offer you for evidence, as it would be meaningless to you. It baffles me why someone would reasonably argue that G-d is simply fooling us all with massive amounts of evidence for no apparent reason. How do you explain it?

Oh yeah, well you're a big, dumb, stoopid poopyface.

Jeez. What, are we in 3rd grade.

I have people calling me a monkey from an article I posted yesterday?

There was this thing, a great flood, about 4000 years ago.

You mean the one that is NOT chronicled in Egyptian history? The one that DID NOT wipe out the Inca's?

You still haven't explained how Noah got all those dinosaurs onto the ark ...

The answer is sure to be found in a Chick comic.

I'd rather rely on a 3000 year old text

Oh, your text is 3000 years old? What language is it written in?

Interesting that you should link to the Catholic Church which accepts science over young earth creationism.

Secular science has taught that the Colorado river eroded the canyon over millions of years. This view may be incorrect.

From your article:

"Growing numbers of geologists now believe that Marble Canyon and the Inner Gorge may be no more than 700,000 years old".

I don't understand how this can rectify with a 4000 year old Earth.

The answer [how Noah got all those dinosaurs onto the ark] is sure to be found in a Chick comic.

Science texts for the incurably insane:

"It's Coming" by Jack Chick.
"Killer Storm" by Jack Chick.

Hmm. Your link to a secular science finding that the Grand Canyon may ONLY be 770,000 years old. Thank you.

Everyone notice the join dates on most of these Creationists?

Yep! Get 'em banned! I understand that is how you boys win debates on these threads.

Honestly, most freepers care as much about these stupid daily evolution threads as they would about daily threads about oil-base vs water base paints.

Yep, these threads have a whole LOT to do with conservatism. I thought it was going to be a discussion on the ACLU attacking the taxpayerss, but of course it was the same old bozos posted the same talking points for the 1000+ time (and siding with the ACLU!). At least people on the drug war threads actually participate in the rest of the forum.

Do you boys know you have multi forum reputations as jerks?

You beat me by a few seconds. Interesting that he provided a link to a secular article about how old the Grand Canyon is. Insteresting that he didn't state the facts but hoped the casual lurker would be mislead by his post. Or perhaps,he just doesn't understand ...

I post to many topics, Hacksaw - many of which are humorous. This topic, however, is very important to me and obviously others. You may not feel that teaching religion in science class is important/detremental to conservatism, but we do (well, the people you are insulting, anway).

Here's a suggestion: act like a conservative and mind your own business. I don't recall anyone pinging you to this thread.

Even by googling it, I doubt that I will find a definition. The problem is not that you don't know the definition, but rather that there doesn't seem to be one. It seems to me that two organisms are defined as being of the same "kind" if there is good evidence that they have descended from a common ancestor, thus allowing the creationists to say that organisms vary, but not outside of their "kind."
