Political groups say the TV broadcaster is filling the nation's airwaves with Republican bias.

NEW YORK — A coalition of liberal political groups is launching a nationwide protest against Sinclair Broadcast Group, charging that the 62-station TV broadcaster, which was also the target of intense criticism during the presidential campaign, is misusing public airwaves with partisan news programming.

The groups, led by Media Matters for America, today will announce a campaign to pressure Sinclair's advertisers with letters. The groups, however, are stopping short of demanding an advertiser boycott.

The campaign is one of the first broad attempts to reenergize liberal political activists in the wake of the Democrats' electoral defeat in November. Others involved include MoveOn.org, Free Press, Campaign for America's Future, Working Assets, Alternet, MediaChannel, and fi

It's America. They have a right to expose themselves as the morally bankrupt morons they are. I'm good with that.

And they claim to be the party of free speech, tolerance and the working man. Quite ironic and double standard, only if it's for them. They live in fear of competition being heard.

I would have suported Sinclair. But since they stabbed the Swift Boat and other veterans in the back by promising to air their program and then caving to Democrat threats and airing what was, in all essecence, a John Kerry commerical, as far as I am concerned, they are on their own.

The Democrats are like all other criminals, once you give in to their threats, they own you. And they are harsh taskmasters.

"The groups, however, are stopping short of demanding an advertiser boycott."

Not that I agree with these morons at all, but do they not know who PAYS for television? Um...I'll give you a hint; it has something to do with sponsors and commercial air time sold. When you want to make a point, it's best to go for the cashflow. Yeesh.

Hey! if it wasn't for Sinclar bringing the controversy to the MSM who knows what would have happened..sheesh..give them some credit..at least a C for effort. We need all the support we can get on the waves. Don't cut them off like that.

I feel the same way. And I personally know several truly undecided voters who went for Kerry after I told them the Sinclair program would reveal some real negatives about him. They watched the show and thought his detractors were unfair or even lying.

LMAO!!!!

The scumbag Democrats will never get over the fact that their decades-long monopoly on the selection and dissemination of the news of the day (via big-city newspapers and broadcast network newscasts) and their exclusive spin on that news, is gone forever.

I do enjoy the crybabying about it, though.

I think you may be right about that. Sinclair caved to John Kerry's threats against them, I think. However, they didn't cave enough. The only kind of caving the liberals will accept is all good press for them and all bad press for Republicans. Nothing in between will suffice. That is pretty much what they have been used to from the other networks.

Another important item, barely mentioned last week, was the announcement that Clear Channel would be replacing ABC, CBS, and NPR top-of-the-hour radio news summaries with the new Fox News radio newscasts. The replacement process will transpire as existing contracts run out.

Do you have any idea how many people get the sum total of their news from their car radios during the drives to and from work? The importance of this announcement cannot be overstated. The liberals (at least those who understand the importance of this) must be apoplectic.
