When a Channelview mother awoke on a recent Sunday, she walked into her 12-year-old daughter's room and found an empty bed.
The girl was missing for four days before being found Thanksgiving Day, apparently lured away by a man she'd met on the Internet. Her disappearance was the latest in a string of similar incidents since September involving Houston-area girls and points to a growing number of such child-predator cases, law enforcement officials say.

The Channelview mom had two computers in her home, but neither had Internet access.
A neighbor across the street would later reveal that the preteen had been using her computer for the past three months to converse in a chat room with someone named "Black."
After months of talking to "Black" on the neighbor's computer, the 12-year-old Channelview girl decided to rendezvous with him in a nearby parking lot.

As the father of a young girl, let me be the first to say that your comment was utterly uncalled for. 12 year olds aren't known for their common sense, that's what they have parents for.

12 year olds aren't known for their common sense, that's what they have parents for.The article mentions that predatory men learn to talk using teenage expressions and interests. One of them even created a "pagan" website just to target girls:

I'm with those who think the neighbor should be held responsible.
