There may be a few sites you will have to open in IE.
I downloaded an extension that comes in handy during that time....I right-click and say open the link in IE.
Still, Firefox is great and 98 percent of the pages load fine.

Unfortunately, until some sites realize they need to build their sites for multiple platforms, there will be a couple you will have to open in IE for full functionality.

Xandros 3.0 just released this month finally includes Firefox 1.0 as well as the latest Mozilla Suite browser. It also comes with a VPN Wizard as well as a GUI built-in Firewall Wizard. Yep, FREE is spreading like wildfire and we have yet to see Microsoft counter it.

Since installing Firefox, I have had zero spyware items. It has reduced spyware to zero. ZERO.

I only had a couple, tons less than when I was on IE.

I am thinking their was an extension that basically build a duplicate tab.....
Not all of the extensions have been brought forward to the latest release level of Firefox....keep checking.....

I went to the Mozilla web site and cut and pasted the adblocker stuff into the userContent.css file in the
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\US\chrome
folder. It doesn't seem to do anything.
Ideas?

I'm not very computer litterate. What happens if I install it and then decide I don't like it? I use Windfows XP.

You can install it and work with it for awhile before you make it your default browser.....
It will coexist with IE....

I have it. Nothing special. I don't see what the big deal is.

DuplicateTab and QuickTabPrefToggle are updated for 1.0 and add all of the nice functionality for working the tabs.

KoRn,
Have you tried one of the extensions that changes your user-agent strings to fake out the server into thinking you are using IE? Sometimes that is all it takes. It also helps to complain loudly to the bank. If enough people complain about being locked out, they'll have to do something about their poor site coding practices.

I downloaded Firefox at work, and it has yet to load one maddog time. I got a pop-up saying it wouldn't connect, and I haven't hit the shortcut (cool logo!) all last week. What is it -- or am I -- doing wrong?
The Avant Browser works just fine at home and work.

I tried it, but I prefer Opera.I heard wonderful things about Opera some years ago, and downloaded it to check it out. It pulled a IE on me -- that is, it set itself up as default browser without asking -- and I got rid of it post haste.
