From the University President: "The quote attributed to Professor McTighe is unacceptable and not an issue of academic freedom."
To Whom It May Concern:
First, thank you to all of you who contacted the University of Leftism, er, uh, Louisville, the Alumni Association, your Representatives in Frankfort, and forwarded emails in order to create awareness to this situation, and ask for more help. Many thanks to Brian Yates of the Louisville Patriot for exposing this local campus anti-Christian potential terrorist. A very special thanks to a Kentucky State Representative who contacted the University President's office directly. To those of you who understandably think we have no more Christian representation in Frankfort, think again.
After a few weeks of having to endure comments from a liberal sociology professor at the University of Louisville who, after his candidate lost the election, stated, It was the religious zealots who say they are voting on morals. I think we should all buy AK47s and shoot them all! Thats what I would suggest, if it were allowed. He said this during a class he was lecturing at the University of Louisville, a class full of impressionable and naive young people.
Thankfully, much outcry has occurred over this. The university president's office, the university's provost office, the alumni association, and several KY state representatives have been contacted over this outrageous statement by a man who has influence over our young people. Talk radio shows have made time for the issue as well.
When a man, who is in a position of influence over young people, abuses that privilege for ungodly purposes, we must also provide proper discipline. Yes, I know McTighe's speech echoes a lot of what goes on at many colleges and universities across this crumbling nation, but when it reaches the point that an American professor is calling for the shooting of American Christians in our One Nation Under God, something more serious than a "talking to" has to occur.
The removal of the U of L contract with this sick man is a good step in the right direction. A letter of reprimand should be placed in his permanent teaching record as well. He should not be allowed to teach in the state of Kentucky indefinitely (U of L is state supported!) and civil and criminal charges might also be in order. Too tough you say? What if it was your Christian child in class that day when this sociology lecturer at U of L, Professor John McTighe, said, "It was the religious zealots who say they are voting on morals. I think we should all buy AK47s and shoot them all! Thats what I would suggest, if it were allowed."? Just how sick is this man? Will he graduate to the level of doing what he espoused at some point? Should we now set up armed sentries outside our churches? The simple fact that we don't know is reason enough for McTighe to be sent on his way and made to attend some "anger management classes" as a good second step in the right direction.
It appears that, finally, after much outcry, the university president has issued a statement which is provided FYI at the link above. It will be interesting to see if this is just window dressing and the "nutty professor" will come back after a sabbatical, or if he is rightly gone for good.

This is terrible, nothing points out the decline of our schools and the stupidity of the left more than this one persons actions.
