It is the old "if you could stop JFK from being shot, should you?" question. What if no 9-11? Would little nibbles at American Empire have gone on unrepaid? Would W have been another Ike? A kindly, fuddly fellow, memorable as Filmore? I have to think so. As it is, Bin Ladin was led astray by Bubba into thinking Americans never do anything about attacks, and he "woke the sleeping giant." It is so sad that America seems to be the only collosus that still has enough of the God of our Fathers left in it that we clearly see the right and the wrong of the coming storm. I used to think that America and Russia would be Gog and Magog. Now, it looks more and more like America and the children of Mohammed.
They, Bin Laden and his crowd, saw what Clinton and his crowd would do to them for attacking us and our Embassy's....nothing. It inspired them to do more and more. And why not? With Clinton, there was no penalty. Oh, the little missile fired here and there but that was just for affect I believe. His inaction with a stronger response only emboldened them to do greater and greater acts of terrorism....till finally we had 9-11.
It seems W and the head of CAIR met at a public function, and the head of that Arab organization was looking for a way to poke fun at America's slighting of Arab culture.
"Mr. President, I was watching TV in my hotel room, and came across reruns of "Star Trek". I had to notice that in this supposedly diverse ships crew, with women, blacks, orientals and even Jews, there was not one Muslim! How can you explain that?!"
Bush takes a long pause, turns and smiles. "Well," he drawled, "you have remember...Star Trek is set in the future!"
