They have lost their glorius vision of themselves and are living on past glories now. They are awakening to the fact that they, like Europe are fast becoming weak-kneed, painty-waist, and I'm sure that hurts, and they are striking out at us.
If they don't get a handle on their muslim population, they are doomed. Right along with Europe.
I did like Monty Python though.
My dad gave me his highschool History book, and boy, what a past we have lost. The people who wrote that book (academians, for God's sake) knew that Western Civilization was the capstone of human development, that Christianity was the driving force in the world, and that America was God's chosen intrument to effect good in the world. None of the "if we do that, no one will like us!" malarky that pervades today. Right was right, wrong was wrong, and America was going ahead as it best thought.
England, IMHO, has lost a lot of that. Hey, I think that their class system was once a little severe, but at least at one time England believed in England as being better than the 'eathan. Amrerica has re-discovered a belief in itself. I hope we can fan this flame and make us a worldpower again. We believe in ourselves. We can't let libs and naysayers drag us down into relativism again!
