W rewards incompetence. Tenet is obvious, Bremer made a mess of post-war Iraq. Franks is deserving IMO.

Site Meter In my opinion Franks is the most deserving, but don't forget about Bremer. John Kerry was back here yammering on at 6pm every night about how we would never get sovereignty handed over on time - and Bremer did it 3 days early!

Tommy Rocks!

True but he dismissed the Iraqi Army outright, oversaw the incompetence/corruption of postwar contractors and impeded Oil For Food investigation to name just a few of his missteps.

Tenet's incompetence doesn't need elaboration.

It's the "new tone in Washington," or affirmative action for bureaucrats.

Perhaps but if this is "New" I want the "Old" back ASAP. We need accountability and a proper rewards system if we are to succeed IMHO.

Bremer did what you would expect from a life long State Department hand.

But he should get credit for going to work everyday for a year wearing the largest bulls-eye in the world.

In my opinion, Bush should appoint Tommy Franks to be the Secretary of Homeland Security. He'd be an excellent choice now that Kerik has dropped out of the running.

Franks would be an excellent choice. Don't think he would accept it though. That Dept. has to be the most unmanageable part of a completely out-of-control government - Not to mention Franks is probably making some catch-up bucks on the Book/Speaking circuit.

Yeah but at least Kerry had to actually do something, like lie, make up his own after action reports, shoot himself in the A$$, etc. These guys just sat back and accepted the praise.

Yes, that's YOUR opinion.

You have the right to be wrong.

Carry on.

You have the right to be wrong.

As do you - Blanket statements of certitude in ones position do not foster reasonable debate or further the process of communication.

I agree--and I responded in kind to that very tone encompassed in your initial blanket statement.
