Reid is as evil as Dashle, have no doubt. I've lived in Vegas for 25 years now and know the ins and outs. But Reid won't be as effective as Dashle. Reid is a petty conniver where Dashle was a shrewd true believer.

Reid also has to know that Dashcle was not re-elected due in large part to his conduct as Senate Marjority leader-obstructionist. Reid comes from a red state; he better be careful. He can't count on the mainstream media to hide his actions-not in the modern era of blogs and talk radio.

Well .. I still believe Hillary is calling the shots in the Senate .. and I believe Reid will say whatever she tells him to say. It may not be word for word, but Hillary certainly wields enough power to impose her opinions on Reid.
The attack on blacks is surely what Hillary wanted. I believe she is terrified of Condi running against her. If I was Hillary I would be more afraid of Rudy with Condi as VP.

I didn't know that Reid is a Mormon. But if he is, then he may be in trouble in a few years when he comes up for reelection. Mormons are, by and large, a pretty conservative lot.
The big reason for Daschle's defeat at the hands of Thune was his stupidity in attacking Bush. By so doing, his true character was unmasked for everyone to see. It appears the Reid is following pretty much the same path.
