This X-ray picture shows a 5-centimeter nail stuck in an unidentified South Korean patient's skull Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004. According to a Seoul hospital, doctors found the nail after the man came to the hospital, complaining about a severe headache. They speculate that the nail stuck in the man's head four years ago in an accident but the man didn't know about it. The nail was removed in a surgery last Saturday. (AP Photo/Yonhap).

How could he NOT know that he has a nail in his head?

The brain does not have pain receptors. Note from the XRay that it is quite a (heh) SMALL brain, as well. The nail seems to have stopped with the head at or slightly into the bone of the skull, so the skin probably healed around it uneventfully.

I wonder if he could have been radio-controlled, or if, walking by a 20 meter ham's antenna, he twitched and jerked anf flopped around for no apparant reason....A good case for a tinfoil hat.

It was probably a finishing nail,(without a head), and it was buried with just a very small puncture wound

I had a nail in my head for over 2 years. I was playing around with a stud finder and it pointed to me. I always knew I was a stud, but not that kind.

We had BB gun fights too when I was a kid. I shot my younger brother once right between the eyes. Mom told Dad and that was the end of the BB gun. I won't say what happened to my ass but let's just say it wasn't pleasent.
