Does anyone here know anything about buying cigs online or from reservations online?

You might try here, but I can't vouch for them. I've used these guys, but it's a bit more work.

LOL, you can't tell?

I've used both...alcohol is most definately the worse of the two vices. Why all the brewhaha over cigs all the time and alcohol gets off free?

We all have our vices...we all make choices and, ya know, we're adults.

Forgive me for feeling as if the response was a tad condescending. I was not attacking smokers, only the fact that it is difficult for me to fathom tobacco "tasting" good. I also never said smoking was some sort of epidemic. I am sorry if I did not make myself clear. Please understand that...

Hey thanks for the positive encouragement...LOL.

The craving is still there sometimes, but having just returned home from an extended hospital stay (not smoking related) and having to listen to other people with severe respiratory problems related to smoking hacking their guts out for hours on end will be a very powerful resistance motivator for a loong time...

Arggggh, I just put my leftover Subway back in the fridge again. ;-)

always wondered if the Premium cigarettes like Marlboro taste better than the no name generics for the same tobacco company...

Absolutely!

I hope you quit forever but it's tough. I have no excuse why I ever started back after quitting. It wasn't some uncontrollable
craving but more seeing them on the shelf and deciding to smoke some more.

Once I quit using Nicoderm. The nicoderm was more expensive
dollarwise than smoking.

Just received the following in email:

On the TV news yesterday in Chicago was a story about a group in Skokie, IL who set up a collection site for people to donate cigarettes for the troops in Iraq. (Maybe there's a shortage at the PX?  I don't know...)

Anyway, what pops up on the TV screen next is a statement from some representative of the Lung Associatiion, protesting this endeavor, spouting off statistics about the number of vets in VA hospitals who suffer from smoking-induced illnesses, etc, and  how much better it would be for this group to send them toiletries and gum rather than cigarettes.

I couldn't believe my ears!  These guys are at WAR and don't know if they'll be alive tomorrow, much less ever come home to "suffer" in a VA hospital!!

If they want cigarettes, for Pete's sake, we should send them what they want!!!

Damn liberals--trying to run everybody ELSE'S lives!  I'm funing!

Radio Host Donates Smokes for Soldiers

SKOKIE, ILL. — Radio host Mike North (search) took his show on the road for what he believed was a good cause: Collecting cigarettes for soldiers overseas.

North urged his listeners in Skokie, Ill., to donate cigarettes to be sent to the troops. He called the campaign “Smokes for Soldiers” (search) and said he got the idea from the picture of James Miller (search), the 20-year-old Marine in combat in Iraq photographed with a lit cigarette dangling from his mouth.

“His picture was plastered all over the newspapers and I started reading … and he says, ‘I’m just doing what’s supposed to be done, but guess what? There’s a shortage of cigarettes out here,’” North said.

The American Lung Association (search) opposes the “Smokes for Soldiers” drive, saying troops should be sent care packages that don’t kill, and distributed a memo from Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld (search) in which he advised that tobacco should be avoided because it impacts troop readiness.

“Tobacco use presents an immediate and real danger for our soldiers who are on the lines today,” said Joel Africk of the American Lung Association. More than 400,000 Americans die each year from smoking-related illnesses.

Please do not vilify me for a condition I cannot change.

I apologize. No harm no foul. :)

I buy the bags of tobacco and the filtered tubes at the Smoke Shop in town.

I order the Supermatic machine off of the net.

NASCAR is allowed to have liquor sponsors again. Cigarettes? No way. So..........let the kiddies drink!

"The anti's" don't want kids to see cigarette ads on NASCAR, but I guess it will be ok for them to see Black Jack!

In combat...covered with mud...infections from fungus and frag wounds...dysentary....clothes rotting off your body....your girl friend cheating on you back home....no letters for months...

Cold C Rats for chow...your best friend blown away...a few weeks ago...figuring sooner or later its gonna be you...but too too tired to really care all that much about it all anyway...

Sometimes just to sit down with a buddy and have a hot cup of powdered CRat coffee with powdered coco, powdered milk, and sugar.. and smoke a cigarette is probably one of the most comforting things you can ever imagine...

And I quit smoking and drinking 30 yrs ago .....and still remember that once upon a time... they both tasted pretty damned good...

To keep cigarettes and occasional booze back from combat vets...is criminal

imo
