Was wandering the streets of Buffalo NY with my girlfriend (now wife), her roommate and my roommate (all on acid). We came upon the 24 hour store on Elmwood Ave. There was a small puddle on the sidewalk as it had been raining. Thats not how we saw it though. Looked like a huge lake with no bottom and it scared us. Thought we would fall in and drown! Then a homeless man approached me and started asking for money. I told him I didn't have any. After several rounds of asking for money and telling him I didn't have any my genius girl friend started demanding that I buy her a candy bar at the 24 hour store. After telling her that I just told the homeless guy I didn't have any money she went on a rant about how I have plenty of money in my wallet and continued demanding I buy her a candy bar.
So for what seemed like an hour I was battling between a homeless man who I am telling I have no money and my girlfriend loudly proclaiming I have plenty of money and demanding a candy bar. I was just waiting for the homeless man to jump me. I finally broke down, bought the candy bar, and got outta there as fast as I could, being sure to miss the giant ocean on the sidewalk that was sure to swallow me whole.
She married me! But then again, she was tripping too.
LOL!!!!
Hey, hey Strawberry. Wake up.
Yeah, it sure was a lot of fun being young and free! I used to love taking acid and shrooms.
I haven't touched the stuff in years. The last full on psychedelic I experienced was 5-MEO DMT. That was like taking 500 hits but it only lasted for 30 minutes. Believe me, that was enough.
I have too many responsibilities to dabble in that stuff now. Plus, after you do enough of the stuff trips can start to seem like watching a movie you have already seen. I kinda felt like I learned what I could from the stuff. I credit LSD with curing my alcoholism. All in all, it has had a major and positive impact on my life. I would never suggest it to the feeble minded, but for the young and strong it can be a great thing.
Every once in a while I will have a dream in which I dose. I really do miss the stuff! I just know better than to think my happy trips are places I can go back to. I have kids and employees and mortgages, for crying out loud. My ego has grown somewhat fat and would surely fight hard to maintain everyday reality, and that is a sure recipe for a bad trip.
Perhaps some day if the setting is right I might be tempted to eat some shrooms... Maybe just a stem or a half a cap.
Viagra and acid? Sounds like a really funny trip. All dressed up and not a clue where you are going.
Who is it?
Must be nice! At that point in my life I was taking night cat shots off a straight deck carrier in the Norwegian Sea in December (1957).
And, as I recall, toward the end of the month, selling blood for $25 a pint was an option -- to make it to payday!
Or, City Loan, at 21%.
Give me a break!
The thing that I could never figure out was why there weren't ever any big acid busts like there are with other drugs.
During the 70's - early 80's the stuff was all over the country.
Cheech and Chong. I forget which album.
Dave's not here.
I was ambidextrous until I discovered women were not easier but better!
I know a guy who swears that he used 'shrooms to break his nicotine addiction.
That was a funny acid story. Here is one back at ya:
One summer after my freshman year of college, me and my two roomies were tripping hard. We decided to take a walk to the corner store. While walking thru the parking lot we passed one of those coin operated car vaccuum cleaners. Some how we got the idea that if we put our money in it and poured bubbles in the hose that it would turn into a giant bubble machine. We ran into the store, bought our bubbles, plunked our coins in and poured in the bubbles. We stood around that machine with I am sure the look of eager anticipation on our faces. We all realized at about the same time that we had just wasted our coins and bubbles. We turned away from the machine and laughed all the way home.
And living next to The Buffalo Psych Center was most excellent...
Never would have guessed!
This article repeatedly refers to drug "addicts." However, from everything I have read or heard, neither LSD nor Viagra is addictive. Thus, this article strikes me as more ignorant "war on drugs" scare talk, i.e., propaganda. The drug usage the article describes more accurately refers to "recreational drug users," and (tho' many try to deny it) that includes all folks who consume even one serving of wine, beer, or any other form of an ethanol (alcohol) delivery system.
There is a huge difference between addiction and recreational drug use. Ask any alcoholic, or any other unfortunate soul who has become addicted to whatever drug. Our cultural (and legal) refusal to make this important distinction is irrational and ignorant, and has produced untold costs in human suffering (and wasted taxpayer dollars).
Recreational drug use does not imply addiction.
Let me know when DU gets a hold of this thread.
So, was the dream any better?
I'm no biochemist, but doesn't the ability to hallucinate remain well after the repetitive use of LSD? I think psychiatrists call it schizophrenia.
" $10 for a hit of 4-way"
A friend of mine did 3 hits of four-way at one time. He was never the same again.
