WITH the CBS News investigation of Memogate almost done, Mary Mapes, the producer who obtained the fake memos used in Dan Rather's George Bush-bashing report, is fighting to save her job and her reputation. The sleuths at ratherbiased.com report Mapes wrote up a 68-page statement in her own defense and has been lobbying to convince the CBS probers that Rather's exposé on Bush's National Guard service was accurate, even if the documents obtained from a crackpot Texas Democrat were bogus. Rather acted preemptively by quitting as the "Evening News" anchor.

This may not be generally known, but I have seen Burkett claiming to have been in touch with NBC who may be about to break their own story on "Rathergate." Or so he says and it would appear to be coming shortly. I think he is rather bitter with CBS who believe left him twisting slowly in the wind.
I can't possibly see how Mapes will keep her job and I suspect the president of CBS is going to get canned as well. Of course the real goal is Rather's scalp.
If CBS retains the fraudulent criminal Mapes, they may as well dip into the State Prisons for new "talent."

This woman is a fire-breather(and looks it oddly enough)! Feminazi extraordinaire, which puts her in the Dim camp obviously. She has been pulling her stunts since at least the Byrd dragging death in Jasper Texas(just down the road from me), and I suspect much longer than that.
Both she and Danny-Boy should have been gone months ago.

Wonderful to hear. My hope/wish/prayer is that some of the things we create here on FR make it to the outside world where they can scatter some seeds of doubt, about the MSM in particular. Public enemy #1 as far as IMHO ;^)

A worthy goal, but it only scratches the surface IMO. Pinkoism is embedded in the MSM. It is part and parcel of who and what they are. They replace captain Dan with another talking head and move along. Nothing would change with only the ouster of Dan.
To actually implement real change within the MSM would involve massive restructuring to rid themselves of the worker bees with the same mindset as Dan. Can you imagine cbs installing a "balanced" newsreader in the anchor chair with a bunch of utopian dreamers behind him. Wouldn't work. Hence a top to bottom housecleaning is in order. Still, won't happen IMO.
