IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 9, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Statement from Pentagon Spokesman Mr. Lawrence Di Rita on Question Posed at Town Hall Meeting

“The issue Specialist Wilson raised at the Town Hall meeting in Kuwait is important. This department takes the matter seriously, and is addressing it aggressively.

Town Hall meetings are intended for soldiers to have dialogue with the Secretary of Defense. It would be unfortunate to discover that anyone might have interfered with that opportunity, whatever the intention.

The Secretary provides ample opportunity for interaction with the press. It is better that others not infringe on the troops’ opportunity to interact with superiors in the chain of command.”

Seems a reporter imbedded with the troops planted this question with one of the soldiers.

A reporter is supposed to report the news, not make the news.
Someone should remind this jerk what the job is that he, "used to have".

This reporter should be banned from any and all future briefings and press conferences. It's one thing for the soldier to ask the question, it's quite another for a reporter to be pulling the strings.

It is amazing how the media will stoop to any depth to help our enemies. It's that F'n simple. They want us to lose and they will propagate forgeries, "discover" problems that have been under investigation for months, publish internet porn and attribute it to our soldiers, and now this.

These people a scum, slime, scurvy. The American people know it. A survey just came out that ranked military officers near the top of "whom do you trust" and reporters at the bottom. They've earned this scorn. It's been a rough week and my scorn has morphed into hatred toward these types. We need to organize a boycott and take one of these pukes and put him on the street. Let's start with this reporter and work our way down to CBS News (where the "C" is dormant).
