It is a parents worst nightmare. That's why I have a 45 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback, soon to be an 80 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback that sleeps in my daughters room.

I have a big dog.. who would not only let the burglars in, but make coffee for them... the little dog would make pastries, the cats would just pee on them..

Plus, they keep the bed nice and toasty. As a kid, I remember reading that is how the term, "Three dog night" was created...it meant that it was so cold that you needed three dogs to keep the bed warm.

I have two pits and a miniature dachshund. The dachshund makes a great foot warmer.

It's also nice to have them sleep with you sometimes.
