Give me a break. It's obvious President Bush welcomes "diversity".
I'm asking you to explain your accusation, and back it up with facts.
Explain to me that the President doesn't just look for highly qualified people regardless of skin color, but rather is just being PC and seeking 'diversity.'
Explain how Condi Rice, Alberto Gonzalez, or anyone else were chosen to be PC, and not because they are long time, trusted advisors who happen to be minorities.
And use facts.

It's going to be interesting here on Freep when President Bush starts pushing greater restrictions on campaign financing and political speech and if/when he pushes for a new AWB.
Half the people here will say "Don't worry, President Bush knows what he's doing" and the other half will just look on and shake our heads in amazement...

I've read this whole thread, have seen that word out there, but as of yet haven't seen the evidence to back it up.
Please back your assumptions up with evidence to support them (e.g that he will push for a new AWB ban).
You may ridicule those of us who trust the President more than we trust you, but he has proven over and over again that he can be trusted.
You, on the other hand, have proven only that you can say silly things.
Since he let the last one sunset, what makes you think he'll be pushing for an AWB?
They underestimate the President and the administration at every single turn, about as much as the Democrats and the mainstream press do.

Mineta would have sent the letter even sooner, but he wanted to give the airlines enough time to count the number of their employees and customers who had just been murdered by Arab passengers...

But what they really mean, I think, is: do I really think that impeaching Norman Mineta is the way to do something about the idiocy of air security? That's a bit more complicated.
It's certainly possible to impeach a cabinet official -- they're "officers of the United States," and hence subject to impeachment. But it never happens, because a cabinet official who's that unpopular will be fired by the President first.
Mineta isn't the whole problem, of course. He's a symptom as much as a cause, a symptom of a bureaucratic mindset in which -- it must be said -- he participates fully. (And according to Gary Leff, who is all over this story, James Loy, the new TSA chief, is no better).
But since everyone knows that Mineta personifies the very mindset that is causing the problem, and since "Impeach Norm Mineta" makes that point nicely, it's not a bad slogan. And judging by the glee with which a colleague of mine grabbed one of those bumperstickers, it reflects a widely shared sentiment.
Mineta will probably withstand the blogosphere-generated juggernaut, of course -- especially as Republicans won't want to attack a member of the Administration, and Democrats won't want to attack one of their own. (Yeah, Mineta's a Democrat, actually). But there's nothing like bumperstickers calling for impeachment to bring home the unpopularity of a politician's actions. So get one, and display it proudly!
Looks like the Bush administration still hasn't gotten the message. Maybe I'll wear the bumper sticker on my forehead the next time I'm on TV...

The embodiment of the lack of security is Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta.
Usually, even reasonably well-informed Americans can't name the secretary of transportation; and if they can, it's usually bad news. Norman Mineta is a nightmare. This racist, affirmative action hustler still seeks revenge against white people, whose nail clippers he confiscates, because sixty years ago a white official confiscated his baseball bat.
Mineta has set his band of incompetent, foreign, high school dropouts — aka air security screeners — loose to harass the least suspicious-looking white travelers, while ignoring suspicious-looking Middle Easterners. That is, when the now federalized screeners aren't nodding off on the job, or looking on blankly, as passengers carry on all manner of illegal weapons.
Why do you stick up for this incompetent weasel? He's not a relative is he?

Sorry, but I think that's a logical fallacy (denying the antecedent?). "The President would fire Mineta if he is an idiot; the president didn't fire Mineta, therefore Mineta can't be an idiot."
Hey, Bush does a lot of good things. This just isn't one of them...and it doesn't mean Mineta isn't an idiot.
No, he's not a relative of mine. Here's an idea, rather than just accusing him of being an incompetant weasel, why not back that charge with some facts.
By your yardstick, Reagan was a RINO.
The facts include evidence of Mineta stonewalling on the arming of pilots, as well as Mineta's refusal to consider any profiling during airport searches.
I can understand the argument again the latter (even if I disagree with that argument), but I fail to understand how anyone could support a man who won't allow pilots to defend themselves and their passengers as a last line of defense.
If you can show me where I'm wrong, I'd be open to persuasion.
He is not conservative in every area, but neither are the majority of Republicans.
I am a conservative Republican, which means that most Republicans fall to my left in many areas, but that does NOT make them RINOs.
Stop using false terms, and discussion can be more productive.
Congress stepped in and allowed it, and Mineta was right in refusing to consider racial profiling. Remember Richard Reid, the shoebomber? He certainly didn't have olive colored skin.
