Have you guys read the earlier versions of Tintin? The ones in Congo and in Soviet... Those are interesting, although Herge's drawings were not developed yet...

Since Tintin was written in quite large time span, we can see the changes of Western society in mid 20th century. In the early versions, Tintin & Co. were very not PC. Later, however, we started to see the seeds of PC and multiculturalism...

I'm sure this explains Nancy Drew also. Notice how she always keeps getting bashed in the head, book after book? And the Hardy Boys too, if I recall.
