Nearly 30 years ago a boyhood VAN TRAN arrived in America after the Fall of Saigon speaking only 2 words in English. On Monday this Attorney-at-Law and now former Garden Grove City Councilman became the highest elected Vietanmese-American Official in America.

I am proud to say that I voted for Van Tran.
Who also happens to be a Republican.

...and VAN TRAN agrees with Mr. TANCREDO on illegal alien issue.
Viva Van Tran.
Maybe he will do something about all of the Invaders from Santa Ana hanging out in the strip malls all day.
Euclid south from the 22 for a good 5 miles.
Pissin in the bushes...tearing up landscaping...discouraging patronage of small business....watching your little girls go to school.
"Maybe he will do something about all of the Invaders from Santa Ana hanging out in the strip malls all day."
Well Congresswoman Sanchez, Senators Feinstein and Boxer haven't done anything about the illegals and Ahnold hasn't done anything so I don't expect Van Tran to do much either...
Give him a chance. We can always trash him later.
Van Tran? For a second I thought he was Dutch.
Thanks for the ping!
Both of the Sanchez sisters are lops.
Why'd you have to mention all four of them in one line?
You never know. Never thought I would have seen that protest down here against the Commie business owner either. Remember how many people were there? It was the whole damn city.
Can't stand up against that kind of pressure. The Vietnamese Americans have it in them. Just wish they'd do it.
That's okay. I once thought Carl Jung was Chinese.

I know Van Tran---he was opposing counsel in a case I had about four-five years ago. He...ummm..."let me win." (grin) He was also consistently gentlemanly and professional in his dealings with me---naturally charming and people-oriented. He was of course politically active even then, intensely proud of his Vietnamese cultural heritage (he was fluent in Vietnamese...French, too---though we won't hold that against him...), patriotically and levelheadedly conservative, comfortably at home in America. I congratulate him wholeheartedly on his election victory and new public office, and wish the very, very best of luck to him.
Viva Van Tran.
Vietnamese-Americans here in California are generally in favor of sensible immigration controls and enforcement of the immigration laws as they stand against illegals. They give the lie to the canard that opposition to illegal immigration is racially charged.
That one too. I'll give him a few days to get into office and then maybe it's time to start writing The Honorable Mr. Tran
Point him in the right direction. The Vietnamese community has put a lot of effort into making Garden Grove feel like home. Be a shame to lose Little Saigon to the Invasion...it's an icon, like Chinatown.
Thanks for confirming that. But honestly, would anyone expect someone whose parents fled communism, at great risk to their lives, to grow up to be a democrat?
Thank you for the update!
