I don't know that they'd want to, because there's still a huge amount of adoration for the Clintons in the Dem Party. Many in the entertainment industry adore the Clintons.
You know, they threw everything they possibly could at President Bush. Everything short of an assassination attempt. They turned out huge numbers of their voters. Yet they still came up short. So they're going to be so hungry for a win in '08 (even more so if Republicans make further gains in '06), that they'll probably rally around whoever the nominee is.
President? No way, he has bad hair.
And, the brain under those hair plugs isn't much either.
That's probably what's going to happen. I just wonder how geared up the hard core leftists will be in the general election because Hillary will have to move way to the right (by their standards) in order to appeal to the red states. If she does that then I think a lot of them may vote Green or not at all.
You may be right. But it's a long way between now and mid-2007 when serious candidates will start formally announcing their intentions. A lot can happen in that time to change the political landscape.
On the Republican side, we have a whole boatload of presidential wannabes and no clear front runner whatsoever. A lot will depend on who finally emerges on the Rep side. Right now, the Dems at least have a nominal front runner in Hillary, and most of the party WILL rally around her if she runs.
If she does want to make a presidential run, her smartest move would be to not run for reelection to the senate in '06.
John 'I want to be admired by everyone' McCain is the ultimate Media Hog.(Just go away John,c'mon, for gosh sake)
I agree with you that she shouldn't run in '06. Nothing good can come from that for her.
It is true that a lot of people who were considered the "front runner" for their party's nomination ended up losing for a variety of reasons. I still think the Clinton's control that party so if someone wanted to beat her they'd have to form a left wing coalition to take the party over with.
There are three prominent Dem governors who are said to be eyeing a run. Historically, governors have a much greater chance to win than sitting senators. There's Vilsack in Iowa, Richardson in New Mexico, and Warner in Virginia.
True but I don't think they have the star power to take down Hillary.
Yes, Corzine's ego knows no bounds. Unlike Kerry Corzine is smart, smart and smart. He will be a formidable, armed candidate backed up by the financial pooh bahs of our nation.
If you don't believe that Joe Biden is a genius, just ask him. Although, on the Imus show, he went out of his way to mis-identify the fellow Senator who he had just travelled with to Iraq! He called him Senator Chaffee from Connecticut. That's close enough for government work, Joe. RINO Chaffee is from Rhode Island.
