BIDEN EYEING 2008 WHITE HOUSE RUN
Newsmax ^ | 12/8/04

Posted on 12/08/2004 10:20:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

Delaware Senator Joseph Biden announced Wednesday that he's considering launching another run for the White House in 2008, based largely on what he says is the Bush administration's mismanagement of the Iraq war.

"I'm going to proceed as if I'm going to run," the Delaware Democrat told radio host Don Imus.

"Here's the bottom line for me," he explained. "Two years from now, I've got to make a hard - I don't want to do this for the exercise. I'm pretty certain about what I think needs to be done. . . ."

On his prospects for success, Biden said, "I'm not sure my party would be ready for me, let alone whether the country would be ready for me. But we're going to find out."

Biden said one of the things that has him considering a White House run is the way the war is going in Iraq.

"About six to eight months down the road, this is going to be one of those things that if we don't drop our ideology and decide what the hell we're really about in Iraq, there's going to be a mini-rebellion in this country."

He blasted the Bush administration for what he said was a decision to put tax cuts ahead of the needs of U.S. troops.

"Let's assume the tax cut is the best thing in the world," Biden said. "Let's assume it's the greatest thing for the economy that could ever happen. Screw it. We are in a situation here where we have certain basic fundamental priorities, starting with these kids."

Biden first ran for president in 1988, but was forced to withdraw after acknowledging he had padded his resume and plagiarized a speech from British Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock.

Is Biden a bigger media hog than Schumer?

Fun thing to do when Biden's on the stump:

"Great speech, Senator! Did you write it yourself?"

I remember reading Biden's autobiography. He named it "Iacocca."

GREAT! I was beginning to believe that the Democrats would figure out that they can't win with a northeast liberal...

Yet he is still a Senator.

Biden may be the left side "pusher" to make Hillary look centrist.

Biden is all hat. And have you ever seen him from the side? He's got the combover going from the north to the south.

I hope he does run. He'll be a fat stationary target bigger than Kerry.

Have bad news for Biden the blowhard, Corzine will buy the governor's chair in NJ preparatory to buying the RAT nomination for President. He will even buy Hitlery to be his VP. Please God, keep our economy sound and our country safe else we fall into Satan's trap.

I don't believe it. I think he was just plagiarizing one of Kerry's speeches and didn't realize what he was saying.
