ACTION ALERT
It is not a foregone conclusion that Arlen Specter will be the next chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is well within the rights of the Senate Judiciary Committee members to nominate, and the Senate Republicans to award the Judiciary Committee chairmanship to a pro-life, anti-homosexual marriage, pro-second amendment traditionalist .
Arlen Specter is pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-human cloning, pro-homosexual rights, and played a key role in defeating Robert Bork's nomination to the Supreme Court. He must be defeated. Please take action right away.
1. CONTACT JUDICIARY COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND ASK THEM TO REJECT ARLEN SPECTER'S BID FOR THE CHAIRMANSHIP
Urge the Judiciary Committee members listed below to support Senator John Kyl of Arizona for Chairman, so that the anti-Specter forces are not divided among several of the other contenders thus giving Specter a better chance of winning. Kyl has the most seniority after Specter, excepting Grassley who doesn't want the job because he wants to maintain his position as chairman of the Finance Committee.
It is especially important that you contact the member if he is from your state!
Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), phone 202-224-5251, fax 202-224-6331

I would file this under the the catagory of "Beating a Dead Horse". Time to move on...
Sure thing. You betcha.
Keeping Specter from the Judiciary Committee chairmanship would be a good start.
Keeping Specter from the Judiciary Committee chairmanship would be a good start.
Roger that ~ Bump!
FYI
The Constitution Party? What do they care?
Thanks for the ping!
I trust you've got a better idea the cut of folks you're dealing with these days now that this is primarily a "Republican" site.
Just out of curiosity, I'd like to hear to Anna's take on your post and on the replies to this thread.
The FR home page says
Free Republic is the premiere online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
I know that there have been exceptions to this statement by many who participate on FR, but I am still supportive of this objective.
I posted this in the hopes that conservatives (whether they be Republican, Constitution, Libertarian, or independent) would join in this appeal to stop the political advancement of someone who has repeatedly the rights and freedoms that we cherish.
Thanks!
* Insert the word "attacked" here.
I salute your perserverance.
The feeling is mutual.
I would like to move on from the liberal anti-life, anti-Constitution legacy of Bill Clinton that has been perpetuated and defended by Arlen Specter.
Just out of curiosity, I'd like to hear to Anna's take on... the replies to this thread.
As are many of us. The problem is that a majority here believe the ONLY way to do that is through unconditional support of the GOP.
What about threads that encourage action through contacting elected officials about important issues?
Hey, I'm just about ready to re-think succession!
Liberals can form their own country, and conservatives do the same. In fact, we may need 3 countries....another one for "moderates."
The liberals can keep Specter and open borders.
The moderates can share a border with the liberals.
The conservatives get to keep Zell Miller!
Perhaps, although I would be more inclined to agree with your statement if the words "ONLY" and "unconditional" were removed. In either case I don't share that belief, but I still agree with the objectives of eliminating federal largesse, government corruption, and championing the conservative causes.
