So do you like all the 911 commissions recomendations? 336 elected officials with votes that count disagree with you.
These people don't want immigration reform ever.
That's not true. Dubya has promises that will be debated early next year. It is an issue that really deserves a debate and a lot of people do want that debate. It is approaching Christmas time and the problem of illegal immigration has been a problem for a long time. A few more months will not hurt us.
What would hurt us is doing nothing about out port security, adding no more border agents, and failing to go forward with the other intellegence reforms contained in this bill.
If they cant pass a bill with references and backing a most authoritative 9-11 report...
Would that be the report that Gorelick helped draft?
Unless perhaps its Hillary that will take up the torch which is perahps their fate now...
It's nice to have dreams seastay.
Could you be any more irrelevant if you tried?
Ha. that's a laugh from the President.
I wonder if Bush's answer to border security will be tied to the deadly FTAA treaty? Gee, if I only had a crystal ball.
Sure, after he grants amnesty to 15,000,000 illegals, which clearly shows us all where his heart lies regarding the enforcing of border control. Dubya's promise to "debate" this next year is tantamount to putting off till next year the debate about whether or not to let the doctors treat your cancer.
Dubya will explain his reasons for opposing the physical removal of 15 million hard working and decent people from their families, friends, nieghbors, and businesses and communities that rely on them. I suspect that he shares my belief that doing so would be increadibly self-destructive to our economy and cruel. When Dubya explains what he thinks a majority will agree with him.

I'm sure you didn't mean to portray yourself in a negative manner, and you may not be aware of how your words can be read, but when you equate 15 million people with cancer...some people might call that a blatently racist remark. I wouldn't say that, but others might. Fortunately we have been living with the cancer of immigration for over 200 years...a couple months doesn't seem so long when you are familiar with 3rd grade American history.
"I have serious concerns," the California Democrat said. "I hope Republican leaders won't tarnish the achievements of today" by bringing up the immigration reforms again after the new year.
So on CNN's website, there was a poll result of 90% in favor of stopping illegal immigration, and these Democrats want to ignore it? No wonder they're losing!
So now you find yourselves on the same side as Pelosi.
And you have the nerve to call anybody irrelevant?

The race card. Classic. Been reading the Dem playbook lately? Oh, and I notice your comment makes no distinction between illegal and legal immigration. Do you think everybody is too stupid to notice? Misunderestimate your opponent. Another predictable characteristic.
Or perhaps you're reading too much into my lazy writing habits, and poor grammar.
Well when the vote is 336 to 75, it is really hard not to be on the side of 82% of the vote. I'd have to be anti-America, like Tancredo, to vote against the security messures in this fine bill.
Sorry for the aggressive tone. I just woke up when I wrote that, and I was a bit PO'd over that toothless intelligence bill.
Riiiiiiiiiight.
"I am encouraged by the president's commitment," Rep. Tom Tancredo said yesterday. "And I have every intention of making sure he keeps it."
And how exactly do you propose to do that Tancredo?
But hey, hope burns eternal.
>What would hurt us is doing nothing about out port security, adding no more border agents, and failing to go forward with the other intellegence reforms contained in this bill.
Number of terrorist attacks in such ways? Zero.
Number of Arab terrorists that have come through the mexican border? Many.
The bill does not impress me at all, other than adding more government employees.
We really don't have enough yet, since we haven't taxed our citizens into the ozone, or spent ourselves into the gutter yet.
Yep, exactly what we need. - Supersized Government.
Now we'll be really, really safer than before.
But wait! We can add more border agents, but you can't arrest an illegal for being illegal!
A debate? LOL!
That is really the question isnt' it. I mean aside from empowering businesses to run on an illegal basis in the first place, we're subsidising illegal business. And every minute that the law is not upheld is another minute illegal activity is condoned by the congress on down to the local level. Isn't hard to imagine why nobody wants to address it. You don't let a thief in your home walk out with all your goods when you've got them dead to rights and at gunpoint unless there's something really fishy goin on.

LOL! Just try, and that's the end for 2006.
You made a mistake in grammar:
>hard working and decent people. Should read:
"hard working and decent CRIMINALS. Illegal=criminal.
I'm sure that by border "security" Bush means amnesty and social security for illegal aliens. Grrr....
